The staff are extremely rude and unprofessional. Though the date of incident says April 2024, I have experienced their rudeness for several years now. The doctor in question speaks in such a condescending manner so as to belittle you and make you feel so small and incompetent. The incident triggering this review occurred today after a telephone appointment with one of the doctors (who I have had many negative experiences with). I had accidentally addressed the GP as “you guys” as I usually speak in a casual/colloquial tone, never in a malicious way as could be heard in my tone of voice. However, this doctor stopped me and berated me for saying the phrase. I could have been corrected politely, but instead they decided to talk down on me and throughout the conversation was extremely condescending. I had called to find out more information about an issue and to also request a checkup scan, but throughout the conversation I was spoken to as if I was wasting their time. This is not the first time I have experienced a lack of compassion; I had a telephone call with this doctor in late 2023 after experiencing a series of panic attacks, and they were completely unsympathetic during the call. I have never experienced such disrespect from strangers let alone my own GP doctor. I never like to call the GP for this reason and will wait until I am really sick/suffering to then go to the hospital. For repeat prescriptions I fill in the online admin request and I try to avoid directly interacting with the staff in this practice. There is no harm in being kind and speaking with empathy, or correcting patients’ mistakes or slips of the tongue politely. After every appointment I have with this GP, I leave upset and crying as I am quite a sensitive person. I am now seriously considering leaving this GP and am in the process of finding another practice where the doctors have basic human compassion.
