    For weeks, I have been running the 8.30 am lottery of trying to get an appointment with a GP at the Cranfield Surgery for a new asthma inhaler. Each time I call, I am immediately cut off. Today, after retrying 8 times, I end up number 25 in the call queue. When I get an answer, I am told there are no appointments left. I explain I have been trying unsuccessfully for weeks to get an appointment for a new inhaler and I am desperate. I just need to speak to a GP very briefly to get a new prescription. Again, I am told there are no appointments today and am offered one in a weeks time. I explain that I am out of the Country on holiday next week and I need it before then. I am told that my only option is to go to a walk in Centre. The appointment system and the total lack of empathy and flexibility at this surgery is appalling. I am a very infrequent user of the GP service, but I feel continually let down by this practice. I don't blame the staff, who are doing their best, but this really is a totally inadequate practice and it needs some serious reform to provide any kind of service to the local community.
