Apparently now you cannot call to make an appointment - they literally do not want you calling & that's made very clear with the attitude. You are forced to join Anima to make appointments regardless of if you have the means to access it also if you are competent to use Anima. I really feel for the older generation who do not have the access to App's like the younger generation do - In turn I have been unable to make an appointment for my parents to see their GP, who both have constant medical needs - So they are currently being neglected / untreated through no fault of their own. The receptionists are extremely rude 'especially if you go into the surgery for help or if you call for help' Just Rude ! They are not helpful and have no desire to assist Patients whatsoever navigate this new system or help make an appointment. Also the fact you are Not Allowed to make appointments for the future is ridiculous for peoples routine medical care - You have to call from 8am for a same day appointment Only & the appointments are all gone by 9am!!! How is this even humane????

We completely understand how difficult and frustrating this new appointment system must be, especially when trying to care for loved ones with ongoing medical needs. We want to reassure you that if you require assistance completing an appointment through Anima, you can still call the surgery, and our reception team will be happy to help you. Our team is available from 8am to 6:30pm to assist you. We work on an on-the-day appointment system, as attendance from pre-booked appointments has significantly decreased, so we focus on same-day care to ensure timely access for all patients. If you would like to discuss any issues directly, please feel free to email the practice at marketcross.enq@nhs.net and address your message to the attention of the Practice Manager. I will be able to investigate your specific concerns. We are committed to supporting all our patients, including those who may find digital access challenging, and we appreciate your feedback as we continue to improve our service. Very happy with my interaction with your team. My admin enquiry was dealt with within a few moments and my appointment came much quicker than expected. What a friendly and welcoming place. I have been at this practice for only a short time however this is without a shadow of doubt an excellent Doctors Surgery, every time I have needed an appointment to see a Nurse or Doctor I have been called within a short time triaged and either an appointment made or referral to a specialist made . The whole staff are polite , friendly and professional . There are numerous permanent Doctors to see not a different one every week as was the way at the last Surgery I was at . I only have good things to say about this Doctors , the pharmacy is efficient and do not seem to have problems getting my medications . I would like to thank all the staff for an excellent continuing experience .

I have not been in touch with the surgery for quite a while. Last time was for shingles and pneumonia vaccination. On 20.2.24 I did an e-consult for a non urgent matter and was given an appointment for 22.2.24! Two days later, which is excellent. I would say it is not acceptable that so many appointments are made and not kept, though realise this is sometimes unavavoidable. Patients must not take the wonderful NHS for granted.

Completed an eConsult as I was experiencing persistent low mood and wanted to discuss medication. My eConsult resulted in being called the same day by a doctor to book a face to face appointment. I really wanted to have the face to face appointments with a specific GP at the surgery (understandably) but the doctor I spoke to said it wasn’t possible for them to book me with the GP I wanted to see and that I would need to resubmit my eConsult the next day. This seems totally ridiculous, to agree that the information in the eConsult warrants a F2F appointment but then claim to be unable to book it for the next day to see a GP I feel comfortable with is not great at all. In the end I was able to book with my preferred GP but the experience has put me off a little. Market Cross surgery is normally excellent so this experience really stood out as poor.

Phoned the surgery they had phone technical problems so I decided to email with my issue got a called from a Brilliant doctor unfortunately I cannot remember her named and was sorted out immediately. Thank you doctor an asset to the community. Great will collect my antibiotics today.

Well Market Cross surgery you are amazing! Called at 8 this morning number 29 in the queue answered with 20 minutes! Dr called me at 9.30 appointment this after 3.30 thank you all so much! We are very lucky to have this wonderful service!

Our reception team are very efficient at answering calls and care navigating patients to the most appropriate service. Our phone system allows patients to know their current position in the queue it also allows us to monitor phone call activity and response times.
