    I have been at this practice for only a short time however this is without a shadow of doubt an excellent Doctors Surgery, every time I have needed an appointment to see a Nurse or Doctor I have been called within a short time triaged and either an appointment made or referral to a specialist made . The whole staff are polite , friendly and professional . There are numerous permanent Doctors to see not a different one every week as was the way at the last Surgery I was at . I only have good things to say about this Doctors , the pharmacy is efficient and do not seem to have problems getting my medications . I would like to thank all the staff for an excellent continuing experience .

    I have not been in touch with the surgery for quite a while. Last time was for shingles and pneumonia vaccination. On 20.2.24 I did an e-consult for a non urgent matter and was given an appointment for 22.2.24! Two days later, which is excellent. I would say it is not acceptable that so many appointments are made and not kept, though realise this is sometimes unavavoidable. Patients must not take the wonderful NHS for granted.

    Completed an eConsult as I was experiencing persistent low mood and wanted to discuss medication. My eConsult resulted in being called the same day by a doctor to book a face to face appointment. I really wanted to have the face to face appointments with a specific GP at the surgery (understandably) but the doctor I spoke to said it wasn’t possible for them to book me with the GP I wanted to see and that I would need to resubmit my eConsult the next day. This seems totally ridiculous, to agree that the information in the eConsult warrants a F2F appointment but then claim to be unable to book it for the next day to see a GP I feel comfortable with is not great at all. In the end I was able to book with my preferred GP but the experience has put me off a little. Market Cross surgery is normally excellent so this experience really stood out as poor.

    Phoned the surgery they had phone technical problems so I decided to email with my issue got a called from a Brilliant doctor unfortunately I cannot remember her named and was sorted out immediately. Thank you doctor an asset to the community. Great will collect my antibiotics today.

    Well Market Cross surgery you are amazing! Called at 8 this morning number 29 in the queue answered with 20 minutes! Dr called me at 9.30 appointment this after 3.30 thank you all so much! We are very lucky to have this wonderful service!

Our phone system allows patients to know their current position in the queue it also allows us to monitor phone call activity and response times.     I understood that the GMC had changed the rules on post Covid appointments but Market Cross seem to have their own rules. I am really disappointed because this used to be a really efficient, well run surgery. My family are healthy and rarely need to see a GP but when one of us is ill getting in touch with a doctor at Market Cross is very difficult. I ring at 08:00, when the phones open only to be told I am number 52 in the queue. All credit to the staff answering those calls, they get through them quite quickly but when you’re calling for a sick child or for someone really ill the 30+ minutes wait is difficult. I thought I might just have been unlucky but I now know this is normal. The number of people who have told me they have changed their GP surgery is shocking. When I am told that their new surgeries are happy to offer a choice of appointments and a choice of dates I understand why they are changing. I may well have to do the same.

    Despite being under immense pressure I was able to be seen at short notice. I displayed symptoms of peri menopause and was seen by a female doctor. She was very helpful and had a great deal of knowledge and offered several solutions. The information was overwhelming and she left me for a week to have a think about what I could do next. She personally called me back in a week as promised and a prescription was then sent for me to collect. I always find this surgery to act as professional, tolerent and helpful as they can be, given the pressure they are under and the abuse they receive from patients. Well done Market Cross.
