I attended this practice recently for my diabetes. The appointment was given promptly with the doctor. Doctor was very courteous, explained to me all about my results and explained further course of action. I returned fully satisfied with the service I received.

February 2023 - May 2023 A heartfelt thanks to the remarkable ladies on the front desk (and phones) who have been a fantastic help. No matter how busy the phones, they always manage to be business-like, courteous and helpful on the phone or when dealing with me in person. More importantly, because of their knowledge, efficiency and guidance, I very quickly had the consults and various tests required. I am new to the NHS (I have several health issues and was understandably nervous), so my relatively smooth introduction is appreciated. Also, I am hugely thankful for the prompt Professional Medical Service provided by Madeira Medical. Smiley Face Emoji

Great for coughs and sneezes Anything else seek attention elsewhere because you can never get an appointment and the admin staff do not send important information requested by consultants. My consultant has waited 6months for information from GP

Unfortunately I have found my experience of the GP's that I have been in contact with over the last two years for ongoing health issues has been predominately negative. The majority of whom I have spoken to have lacked empathy and compassion and I strongly felt unfairly dismissed, disregarded and that no real effort was made to explore avenues for testing or specialist referrals. Many phone calls later, many weeks/months later and I hadn't got anywhere. I was interrupted, manners were brash and uncaring, and I did not feel listened to.

7th September went to surgery with painful foot and sent for X-ray. Rang up for results but they were delayed. Sent link to podiatry clinic with no information of what to do with it. Rang surgery to find I have to self refer. Rang podiatry clinic told to fill form out in great detail about foot, couldn’t as I wasn’t told exactly what was wrong, assumed they would get X-ray and Dr notes but told no. Rang surgery, not best pleased, receptionist had word with Dr and told me that Dr would refer. Monday 10th Oct rang surgery in great pain to see how the referral was going to find out the Dr never referred me! The receptionist started to get quite short with me adamant that I was told to self refer by the Dr which wasn’t the case. I am 56 years old and have been with this surgery since I was a small child and have never, up until now, had any problems or complaints with the surgery. There has been a total lack of clarity and a large amount of assumption on behalf of Madeira Medical regarding their self referral system. As I have never been to a podiatry clinic before I think it is wrong to assume that everybody knows the procedure based on a website link alone. I’m giving this review as I can’t find the practice mangers information on their website to make a formal complaint!

I saw a lovely Doctor this morning. She dealt with my health issue professionally and she listened, even checked my blood pressure. Very patient and lovely mannerism. Thank you.
