Surgery has gone massively downhill since Covid, and especially since Unity Healthcare took over. Almost impossible to talk to an actual human doctor, everything has to be an e-consult and if you dare try and phone for an appointment then reception staff are incredibly rude and just tell you to go online. If by some miracle you are deemed worthy of a callback from a doctor, they don't seem to have read all the information you spent ages typing into the e-consult form as they just ask the same questions all over again. They don't seem to actually care or have any interest in how you are, they just want to get rid of you as soon as possible, they don't listen properly to your concerns and often suggest treatment/actions you've already tried. Follow up calls when inevitably you don't get any better are never with the same doctor, so you end up going through all your symptoms all over again, it seems designed to make you just give up and shut up and go away. Medication reviews aren't much better, they're only interested in ticking all the boxes the computer tells them need ticking, they don't even ask how you are or if you have any questions/concerns over the medication you're taking. I don't feel valued as a person at all, and I have no confidence my healthcare needs are being taken seriously.
