    I have recently had some fantastic service from the practice, the attention to detail and speedy referral process and tests that I received really have been brilliant, these all came at a time when I wasn't feeling too well and was concerned about my health. The doctors and nursing staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. I just wanted to say thankyou as unfortunately you only ever seem to hear bad experiences in the press.

    My father died at Freelands Care Home over Christmas. I need to get a death certificate to register his death so that his funeral can go ahead. The funeral home has tried to contact the surgery for three days and no one replies. I have tried and no one replies. I have a broken arm so I cannot drive over there. There is no way to contact these people. They hide behind voice mail messages in which they actually tell you that they do not listen to the messages for days at a time, they point you at web sites which are so badly designed as to be incomprehensible. Why do they chose careers in the caring professions when they do not care?

I am not sure how this happened as all death certificates are sent direct to the registrar electronically.     Two hours ( and waiting) awaiting a call back from reception under the new ‘we call you back and you keep your place in the queue’ system. Must be a very long call queue and / or physical queue to mean a patient waits over 2 hours just for them to say what they want.

    Dear Patient, We do apologise for the time taken waiting to get through to our team. We are currently recruiting to build the numbers of staff available to take calls.     I rarely post reviews but I had my first visit to Long Hanborough Medical Centre today and my first experience of Eynsham Group Practice was very positive. The staff were all friendly and helpful; and the Doctor I saw gave me plenty of time, was thorough and sought my involvement in choosing the way I’d like to proceed with medical investigations. Thank you

    Have just been discharged from hospital and need a short answer to a short question from the pharmacy. There was no suitable ‘button’ to select to achieve this basic requirement. The only way of finding an answer to this simple enquiry was to sit in a long line to make a telephone call appointment with a doctor. There is no way to speak to a person at any stage and it feels you are on a computer program which cannot cope with any problem that has arisen not on a list. Over the years the standard of this practice has steadily declined and what was once a surgery that was approachable, polite and helpful it has descended to a level which has prompted me to write this review. I have sat on the phone for half an hour only to be cut off and made to start the long process over again. I am currently immobile and going to Eynsham is not an option. When there is no means of speaking to a person how is this deemed to be the improved service we are promised. I appreciate that the NHS is under considerable strain at the moment but access to basic contact and politeness is surely a requirement that can be addressed.

We do offer several options for our patients to contact us, many do involve using IT. We understand this is not always the answer for everyone. We do our best to answer all calls in a timely manner.     This was my second visit to the practice and both times not only have I been seen on time, but the doctor was really, really helpful. The doctor listened attentively, gave advice, suggested further tests and generally took time to try to ascertain what was causing my problem.

    I had my first of experience of having to contact the surgery asking for an urgent appointment. From my very first contact I was treated with kindness , understanding and empathy an urgent appointment was given to me . The doctor who treated me was excellent immediately taking on board my concerns and dealing with me in a professional, caring and informative way, taking on board any issues I had . I was reassured given the necessary treatment and as I left his treatment room he said “I hope you feel better soon “ I really appreciated his words and in view of all the complaints and criticisms we constantly hear about our Health services. I really must thank Long Hanborough surgery for their excellent service from All the staff .
