The practice staff go out of their way to provide an exceptional service. Whilst currently under pressure that have never failed to meet my expectations. I would recommend.

  2. Review titled Find your own NHS Number

Rated 3 stars out of 5

Tried to sign up and the receptionist told me to find mine and my children’s nhs number This has delayed us signing up and delayed our treatment. I’ve lived in 11 different houses and signed up with 11 different doctors and have never been asked to find our nhs number feels like Discrimination.

Sorry you have experienced this. This seemed to be a training issue for one of our care navigators. I will remind them during our training event that we do not turn patients away and how to locate NHS numbers. Thank you for raising this and please contact the surgery to complete registration with us. Apologies again.

  3. Review titled GP Appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

I've registered in the morning, had a call back saying they don't have any slots available. 7th day in a row I've been told to call next day as they are fully booked. Every day Im calling with stres and anxiety and I am ignored which makes me more stress. Are they call centre or medical centre ? They should have more GP's less managers and admins.. disappointing experience

I am sorry that you have not been able to secure an appointment. When you said you registered in the morning. Are you a new patient? We did have a lot of appointments available today so I am a little surprised by this. Appointments do go quickly and we do ask patients to call at 8am. If you would like to contact the surgery and ask to speak to the manager I will be able to look into this further. With regards to more GPs and less admin. I agree we could do with more of both to meet the current demand on all NHS services.

  4. Review titled Generally good but some aspects delayed

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Stephen Pearson - Posted on 14 February 2023

I have had a range of experiences-injection for trigger finger (excellent), GP Care (good) but a very long delay for a lung function (Spirometry) test as "the lady who does it doesnt come in very often"-as COPD is a major issue in North Notts this is really quite shabby.

Thank you for your kind feedback, really appreciated. We know there is issues following Covid with spirometry delays. We are working on a solution locally and hope to resolve this issue in the near future. There has been a change in requirements and equipment and therefore making it more difficult for surgeries to delivery.

  5. Review titled Great Service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I know that GP practices are under a lot of pressure at present, but I was so impressed by the service I received. I called and used the telephone call back system. It worked! The receptionist offered me a telephone appointment with a GP. This suited me as I did not want to have to leave work. The GP asked me lots of questions and I felt was thorough. A prescription was sent to my pharmacy for me to collect on my way home. What more can you ask for! Thanks

Thank you for taking the time to leave this feedback. Often, we only hear when things do not run as smooth, and it is a morale booster for all staff when we have lovely feedback like this.

  6. Review titled Terrible service

Waiting for ages to make an appointment. Every time is a problem to see with a GP even if it is something severe they offer phone visit. And when the phone visit will be enough they claim that GP visit is not necessary.

I am sorry that you have had trouble accessing what you need from us, and that the system was not explained fully. Our GPs triage all of the patients who request a GP appointment. They take the bulk of the history over the phone and then give a patient a time to come in if a physical check is required. This is to limit the volume in the waiting room, the time spent in the surgery and not to waste a patient's time in attending if not needed. It does not mean that you will not be seen face to face. The GPs are happy to see patients in person where clinically indicated. Not all appointments require a GP. We have a team of specialists now working within general practice and the government have invested a lot of resource into this. In the Newark area we have a specialist home visiting team who liaise with the GPs and undertake a lot of the home visits. GPs simply would not have the time to do this now and be in surgery. If you have had a specific issue where something has gone wrong. Please contact the surgery and speak to the manager. Again, I am sorry that we have not met your expectations.

  7. Review titled Poor

Rated 1 star out of 5

I understand there is high demand but it is almost impossible to get an appointment and I really need one. But it's not for urgencies. I start work at 8am and am unable to call at that time and be on hold. But iv been trying for weeks now to get in for an appointment and still can't. I have been on nhs111 and the end result was to call my GP and get in asap. But i can't as i just get told I have to call at 8 and queue. It's ridiculous. I don't know what's wrong with me but I will never find out and get better as the system won't allow me to get in.

Please contact the surgery and ask for the Practice Manager and I will arrange an appointment. Our care navigators do try and accommodate appointments when patients have tried and been unsuccessful in getting an appointment. We do realise how frustrating this can be. Demand is outweighing supply, but often our GPs and Nurses work extra when demand is high. I am sorry for your experience.

  8. Review titled Horrid service

Rated 1 star out of 5

I've been with this practice for a while. However, to even get a call from a doctor is now rare. I don't want to tell the receptionist an intimate issue but it is something that they require. And that is if you manage to get through in the first place.

Unfortunately, in order to direct patients to the correct clinician or service we do ask for brief details of the issue. Often it is not always a GP appointment that is needed. However, we do train our care navigators that if the appointment is of an intimate nature, then not to refuse to book with a GP if appointments are available. I am sorry for your experience and will feed this back as a reminder.

  9. Review titled Terrible Practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 11 July 2022

I have been with this practice for quite some time, the reason I have never changed practices is because I rarely go to the doctors, as either I don't need to or I have used the local pharmacy for any medication. However every time I have needed to use my doctors surgery I cannot get an appointment as you have to ring at 8am every morning and wait in a ridiculous queue to even be spoke to. I rang this morning at 8am and was on hold for 1 hour and still never got through to someone and I tried again at 2pm but they were fully booked for the day and what I find most ridiculous is you cannot book appointments for the next day, all you get told is ring 111 if you feel you need to speak to someone urgently. I will have to ring again at 8am in the morning with the hopes I actually get through to reception, I understand due to COVID etc things have changed, one thing I must state is this surgery has always been the same. Prior to COVID you could never get an appointment either, so you cannot use the excuse of COVID for the reason of your delays and set backs.

I am sorry that you experienced problems in accessing a GP appointment. We have recruited the maximum number of GPs and Nurses that the premises can accommodate and unfortunately our list size keeps growing and we are not allowed to close our lists. Demand can often outweigh supply. We currently have 12 permanent GP and 5 GP registrars. Often these clinicians along with the practice pharmacist work extra to accommodate patients. We are also open 8am until 8pm during the week and 5 in 10 Saturdays. Often our care navigators will try their best to find an appointment when they know a patient has tried and been unsuccessful. Our surveys do show that patients have overall had a good experience however it does not always run smooth. I am sorry for your experience. Please contact the surgery if you are still experiencing this problem.
