I had barely started talking and the receptionist interrupted me and told me I had to go to the walk in centre. I couldn't see anyone. I couldn't have a prescription. Basically go away and do not bother us.

  2. Review titled Breakdown in communication

Rated 4 stars out of 5

On the morning of the 7th September my wife called the practice to cancel my appointment that afternoon due to illness. Later that day l received a text from the practice nurse saying that they were sorry that l missed the appointment. In future, please contact the practice so we can offer it to someone else. A definite breakdown in communication between the receptionist and the medical staff.

  3. Review titled Obstructive, Rude

Rated 1 star out of 5

I have a condition that has worsened during the last fortnight, I rang for an appointment with a doctor and was told I’d have to wait until mid June to see the doctor or the respiratory nurse. After insisting I needed to see someone a lot sooner than that (I’ve been told if I have worsening symptoms of this condition I must see someone to get it checked out ASAP) I was grudgingly given a nurses appointment for Wednesday. On Wednesday morning I received a text message telling me my appointment had been cancelled due to staff sickness, I rang again and after a lot of persuasion on my part and explaining to a rude receptionist what was wrong and why I was worried, I was offered a telephone appointment with a locum doctor. After repeating yet again what my problem was I was then told I could probably do with an X Ray, and was told to collect a yellow slip which I should present at the walk in centre on Whitegate Drive, which I did, the slip was marked urgent and both the locum doctor and radiologist confirmed the results would be at my doctors surgery on the following day and I would be contacted. At 4.45pm yesterday I rang the surgery up and they informed me the X Ray had not arrived, and anyway they were seen in a specific order and even if it had arrived it had to be seen by a doctor before he could contact me for a diagnosis and they had all gone home. By this point I felt frustrated that every time I rang I moved no further toward a diagnosis and the receptionist was brusque to the point of rude with her pointed replies to me. So today (Friday) I rang again as instructed and was told yet again my X Ray results had still not appeared and there was ‘nothing they could do about it’ and ‘you know they are so busy with so many X Rays’. I was yet again at a loss as to know what to do, I did not want to go into the weekend with the worry of this hanging over me, and very much as a last resort I am now waiting again for a phone call from a locum, if there are no results then it will be onto another week with no answers. I don’t need this email replying to, this is by no means the first time I have had to go on the phone with my dukes up ready for a battle, I haven’t seen a doctor for at least three years, I know they exist! I’ve seen a few on my trips to see various nurses, but it’s time to give up the fight and move to another surgery, the wheels will be in motion next week, as for my current predicament I’ll return to my usual fall back position at the walk in centre. We are told we must not be rude or aggressive to receptionists, should we as patients not receive the same curtesy? Thank you for listening to my vent, good luck!!!
