I am leaving it's hopeless. I rarely go to the GP . But on the odd occasion I need to. I can't get in. And regular reviews just don't happen as they should.

I have only been at this surgery 10 months and they are absolutely amazing, always have appointments available for my baby twins. I receive text message to remind me of appointments etc which is great! This is the best surgery in the b45 area! All the staff are lovely and really helpful. Can’t recommend them enough!

Have been contacting the surgery 2 to 3 times every week since Early January 2023 from 8am to approx. 8.30am to get an appointment - when my call has finally been answered through the holding system i have been told every time there are no more appointments left for the day, and try again tomorrow unless its an emergency....or queue up at the door before 8am , how is someone at work supposed to do that !!! well what was not an emergency is gradually becoming one....not happy, not happy at all

  4. Review titled Excellent

Rated 5 stars out of 5

A big thank you to everyone at the surgery. I can't fault the support and service I have had over the years. Recent experiences have all been positive and efficient. I have been contacted independently and proactively re blood pressure readings. I also had a GP appt and blood tests and within days received communication from the GP to explain the results and that a prescription was waiting at a local pharmacy. I have noticed such a beneficial difference in health already in a few weeks. I have used the online form to contact the surgery and had a quick response.

  5. Review titled Unable to get a doctors appointment

    by magpiere46 - Posted on 07 February 2023

I was told by two doctors that It was very important that I must go back and see them due to an infection that will not go away. After four weeks and numerous telephone calls I still cant get an appointment. I have given up and will try to treat it myself. I am supposed to go and have my BP checked now after a medication change. I have been told they haven't got any appointments in the next two weeks, The doctors haven't opened their diary up for after that and they don't know when they will. I have spent frequent mornings calling from 8:00 until 8:40 to be told there are none left. My NHS App will not allow me to book appointments any longer. I do not see how I can ever get to see a Doctor again

  6. Review titled Complete waste of time!

Rated 1 star out of 5

My podiatrist recommended I message my Doctor as she was concerned about an issue with a toe - she even took a photo for me so I could send it across. I then spent 40 minutes trying to access the "Patient access" website (having been forced to change my password, been sent two security numbers, entered all my NHS details on the NHS website,(twice) not been recognised, and finally set-up a memorable phrase) I eventually got round to the "Patient Access" site to send a message, to find that "Your Doctor does not support this service"!! I then tried to "Book an appointment" to find that "You cannot book appointments online"!! Can someone please advise what the actual point of a "Patient access site " is, when you can't actually access anything or any service? And do I just wait until my toe drops off from infection? I can never book an appointment as Leach Heath have barely seen any patients for 3 years. And No, I'm not ringing you at 8am as I don't get to bed after my shift until 2am, and last time I tried I got an answerphone message that said "We're fully booked, don't even bother phoning

  7. Review titled Poor practice and GPs

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 28 March 2023

Sent to A and E twice over 2 weeks by the GP Doctors at the hospital were appalled and said it wasn’t an Emergency we agreed and said we were made to come Both visits were approx 7 hours waiting in the evening We were exhausted Feel that the surgery had two excellent GPS who retired and also the Covid had a impact on the service Really concerned if we have to seek treatment again as the Surgery seems to be run on new qualified doctors who are really very inexperienced The phone system is a nightmare too Wish we could get another practice

Dear Patient, We noticed that you stated you visited the GP surgery in October 22 but have only written the comment now. A new experienced GP Partner has joined our team in November, we also have 7 experienced GP working in our practice. The Practice is a training GP practice which provides future GPs to work in the NHS which is very important to help reduce shortage of GPs in our country and currently we have 3 training GPs working as well, they are always supervised by an experienced GP. We are sorry to know that you are not happy with the advice that was given but if we don't feel safe enough to send you home then we have to send you to A&E for further assessment. Unfortunately we can't discuss this further on this forum but please feel free to contact our Practice Manager Paula McDonald if you wish to discuss and I am sure the relevant Drs will be happy to explain the reasons behind their clinic decision.

  8. Review titled Told to “go private”

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 20 September 2022

This GP has historically been horrendous to get an appointment, recently turning to only offering same day appointments and removing the ability to book online or via Patient Access meaning you have to ring up at 8am every morning to try and secure one and then give up work commitments to attend, this is unfeasible for a lot of people. That then brings me on to the actual appointment which I’ve most recently had, where I have an issue with both large toes, to which I was advised “it does appear infected so I’ll give you a prescription of antibiotics” which was then followed by “but because of your age, you’re deemed fit and healthy so the NHS won’t be willing to treat you for it so I recommend you go private. They only look at people who have diabetes or other health conditions”. Are you joking? I have been paying tax towards the NHS since I was 15 years old, I’m now 25 and you’re telling me I’m still not old enough to use the services I’ve contributed the past ten years towards? Yet someone who hasn’t worked a day in their life will get the treatment just on the basis they’re older? After looking private, treatment is going to cost in the region of £300 per foot plus an additional consultation fee. This experience has been the straw which has broke the camels back and I will be looking to change practices to somewhere else. I will not and do not recommend this practice to anybody.
