Review titled Very competent practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Frederick Arnold - Posted on 16 May 2025
Had to wait well past the appointment time but I was fitted in at very short notice which was very good of the practice. GP was very thorough, had very good interpersonal skills, being empathetic with my issues and after ‘checking me out’ was practical with his advice . This was not the first time I met with this GP and his care and consideration have always been excellent.

The staff in this practice were nice and very professional. I didn’t have long to wait..I regularly visit the practice and I would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone.

Review titled Dissatisfied
Rated 3 stars out of 5

I saw a dr on 29 April, she wanted me to see her again so left a note for me to be phoned for an appt with her when bookings were available. I was called & appt made, but when I went today for this very important follow-up I had not been booked in with the Dr who requested for me to see her. No point seeing a different dr as this has been an ongoing problem for 6 months & Dr I’m seeing is dealing with it. Waste of my time and the drs. Now I have to wait for an appointment with the correct dr. Not very efficient by the department who made the booking. Dissatisfied patient.

Such lovely and helpful staff, very kind and considerate, felt treated like an individual rather than just a number.

Review titled Wonderful service and help
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Michèle cain - Posted on 17 May 2025
I rang on Friday 16.5.25 at 6.10pm after realising my 85yr old mother had a UTI. Wonderful receptionist caring, helpful, proactive organised a photo link so I could send a consultant letter that we had received but the surgery hadn’t yet. Dr rang 10 min later and medication plan and BT sorted. I would really like to thank both involved late on a Friday afternoon.

Review titled Worrying ”communication”
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Christopher House - Posted on 03 June 2025
I came out of a difficult session at my dentist on 23 May and switched my phone back on. The first thing I saw was a “no reply” text that started “This is called Chronic Kidney Disease - stage 3”. The short message that followed asserted that my “kidneys are working well”, but I am in my seventies and to have this come at me out of the blue was, to say the least, disturbing. Shortly after, I received a second “no reply” text, which I assume was meant to come first. It was headed “Dear,” (no name) and this time it claimed to have discovered “mild, age-related decline”. What was I supposed to do with this “information”? I couldn’t reply or query it. It shook me. I have written to my GP to express my concern, but have not had his reply.

Review titled Difficult
Rated 3 stars out of 5

I have consulted only one general practitioner who was helpful, and it is unfortunate that she only conducts telephone consultations. I had to visit another general practitioner in person to address my concerns. Although she was friendly, I felt that her approach was somewhat mechanical, and not all of my concerns were adequately addressed during the appointment. The inconvenience of having to attend another location was not ideal, as the waiting room was exceptionally small and exacerbated my anxiety. I left the appointment feeling distressed and unhappy. Medical professionals should strive to work and interact with individuals who experience anxiety and neurodivergence. The practice should also allow patients to simply book online for telephone calls instead of having to fill out a form every time they want to speak to a general practitioner.

After discovering my Hypertension, the practice reacted quickly organising testing and medication with a good explanation by telephone by the Doctor. A very professional and caring institution with great customer service.

Great experience at Lea Wharf Medical every time I’ve had interactions. This time, really friendly person contacted me promptly after submission of an eConsult. I was able to get one of the last appointments of the day & doctor was friendly, listened and helped me. Thank you
