  1. Review titled Just not meeting Criteria

Rated 1 star out of 5

Seems to me little help available for elderly who live alone and not technically housebound I cannot attend surgery unless accompanied. That would need to be evenings/weekends. Now no longer an option as Lakeside no longer offering evening appointments or enhanced appointments via W Anglia Fededation It is not an option for me to have someone attend the home as I am able to walk, although very limited and with support, but not housebound I'm now on Plan D but it shouldn't be this difficult

  2. Review titled Awful!

Rated 1 star out of 5

Call at 8am if you are over 60 in the queue which you always are you get cut off. Spend 1 hour trying to get through and when you finally get through for an urgent appointment for a child you get told no sorry it’s not urgent and there are no appointments left! How can they decide what is urgent and what isn’t they are not Medical professionals. Since COVID and the practice has changed hands it’s awful! You can’t see a Dr face to face. Luckily NHS 111 are amazing and always get out children seen and treated when this practise fails. I know there is more to blame than a phone system and receptionists that haven’t got a medical degree, however something needs to be sorted and fast. None of know who are named GP is as being as they have different ones here all the time. So frustrating especially when you hardly need to use them. We only call for emergencies.

I called at 8:01 and was 57 in the queue….after 1 hour and 14 minutes wait over the phone, it was my turn. Requested for a GP appointment and told me unfortunately they had no more GP appointments! How can this be happening?!

  5. Review titled Considerate and efficient.

Rated 4 stars out of 5

I had considerable concern regarding prostate cancer. I was presenting with, what I believed to be the classic symptoms of the condition. On contacting the surgery I had no difficulty in obtaining a GP appointment after outlining my concerns. The GP was most understanding of my worries, and in an unhurried manner explained in detail what would be happening next. In particular what medical procedures would take place following the results of the PSA blood test, should it prove to be positive. Nothing can take away the fear of cancer, however the manner in which the GP talked me through the screening process and it's options, MRI, prostate biopsy etc. left me with a positive outlook. In the event further tests proved negative, and although I am awaiting ultrasound examination to determine the exact nature of the problem, my recent experience with all medical staff at the surgery have made me feel far more positive.

  7. Review titled Ridiculous system to get (or not) an appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 02 August 2023

Not sure what is the exact situation at Lakeside Eaton Socon centre, but the appointment booking system is absolutely farcical. I called at exactly 8am to be placed in a queue at No 60. After an hour I was No 16 but suddenly got cut off. When I redialled at 09.05 I was placed in a queue again at No 34 with a set back as you can see of over 15 places. I was then cut off again at 9.15 and out in a queue at No 31. Is this a joke? I am still waiting as I am typing this review, not sure I will get anywhere today, after calling at 8am (it is now 09.52) ! I am not surprised people abuse the A&E system, or 111 for minor things given it is virtually impossible to get an appointment here, After having read some other reviews I might resort to changing doctor surgery after 20 years in this one. Staff are pleasant it is the system that is suffering. I know of the lack of doctors situation in the Uk, but what would it be if it was life threatening such an unseen cancer lump, patients need to be seen by their doctors! I was only after a referral to a specialist, that’s all. Even this seems an impossible task. I would not want to go private but even if I wanted to I need to have a Gp referral. This system is ridiculous. Why can they not open Doctors diaries one or two weeks in advance as it used to be and schedule appointments then, like any other medical practices, even if I know in 1 month I have an appointment at least I know I have one. This system of calling on the day for on the day appointment is ludicrous and does not help the working people. 1. We waste hours on the phone on the day, this is not available to everyone, especially if working. 2. If once through there are No appointments available. So what is the solution? Ring again the next day, we are told. And then again the one after and the one after, is this a luck of the draw game? Better chance of winning the lottery perhaps…… I urge Lakeside St Neots Eaton Socon to get their act together and change their appointment system. They perhaps want to lose patients to other practices, to be able to function, but this is not how the NHS services should be run. Very very very poor system. Not blaming the people, but the systems in place that leaves us patients disgruntled. Better get cracking on improving your systems !!!!

  8. Review titled Impossible to get an appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

The receptionists say they can only book appointments for that same day, so you have to call or queue up at the surgery at 8am. I called at exactly 8am every day last week to be told I was 40th - 60th in the queue. When I eventually got through, I was told there were no appointments and to call 111. 111 then said I needed to see my GP and they would send a request through. The surgery said they couldn't do anything. I ended up in A&E due to an infection spreading and causing problems breathing, and now still can't see a GP to find out if the antibiotics are working. This morning, despite being stood outside the surgery from 7.45am and being 3rd in the queue, there were still no appointments. Even the first person was told there was only one appointment available. The rest of us were told there were no appointments and to try again tomorrow at 8am, as though it was our fault for not being there early enough.

attended surgery to book an appointment 7.50 May 5 2023.Before doors open there was 8 people in a queue. First person (an elderly man) attempted to make an appointment, none available today was response,no doctors here. as were several others told .I was given same reply,I asked if there was appointment next day, reply we can't make appointment in advance.Reception said try making appointment Friday the 8th. This chaos has occurred since Lakeside Health Care took control of this surgery & several others in Cambs, 3 years ago.

  10. Review titled Worst service and no Drs

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Ex patient - Posted on 22 October 2022

There are No Drs available if you ever get through . There is little hope or no hope of an appt or advice . All original Drs have left since the private management company took over . I hope this service has an in depth investigation, as no one I know has had any success with Lakeside with issues . I’ve had poor or no service. I have now moved Drs , I was worried if it was the right choice , thank goodness I did . Everyone I know has also moved away from this service and have now been seen by other services and we all agree , now we have left lakeside , our new drs do actually see and listen to us and we feel cared for , at our new services I recommend any one who is thinking or are using lakeside, to seriously consider using another practice.
