Visited the G.P Tuesday evening. Was at Chesterfield hospital Wednesday a.m. As usual the G.P I saw was very thorough.

Whilst I didn't have a problem with the doctor, I did not appreciate having to wait 30 mins to see the doctor. If I had been late my appt would have been cancelled. I understand the doctors are busy but there was no one else in the waiting room

Dear patient, thank you for this review. I apologise for the delay and understand why you would raise the empty waiting room. Each clinician has to 'write up' their consultation which can include all manner of documents / referrals / reports etc. I cannot be any more specific than this but the administrative burden is huge and goes largely unseen by patients. Killamarsh Practice bearing in mind we have around 11,000 people living in the Village and awaiting total after the 450 houses being built The phone in Service is somewhat better than it was, however dependant on time of day,personally I have had to wait 50 minutes and 2 minutes, but not used the call back service? Both myself and my wife have had lifesaving issues, in 2019, I had lung cancer operated on successfully, same year my wife had open heart surgery both found by Killamarsh Practice? Seeing a Clinician is not everyone’s cup of tea? and I am sure everyone would like to see a doctor? However the Practice Manager explained the funding issue, and it’s better than nothing, Two things need clarifying, The 2 doctors on semi retirement ie: 4 days a week the doctors have a financial stake in the Practice, what happens when they do finally retire? Both those Doctors are registered at Chesterfield Royal Hospital their photographs appear on the walls? Does that interfere with this practice? And finally when those 450 plus houses are built, will there be any changes, bearing in mind the big population increase?

Dear Ken, thanks for this. I cannot fully answer these points within this system as it is not intended to be used for this purpose. You will be aware how I discussed all these issues with the former MP and I have already met with the new MP in the presence of our PPG. Be assured, there is a succession plan for the eventual retirement of our two partner GPs but that is not an imminent concern. Unlike urgent care which is lacking due to understaffing, this routine review was good .Enough time was given to discuss any concerns The surgery is great for routine care and the limited capacity the clinicians have is fully utilised to good effect in that area, all staff were polite and caring

Dear Joanne, thank you for this useful and welcomed feedback. We do provide numerous 'same day' appointments for acute conditions. Not surprisingly those slots are regularly booked up quickly. Increasing same day capacity would only ever be at the expense of the routine appointments so the challenge is always in reaching a balance between same day and routine slots. 14.2.25 rang receptionist who was very personable and helpful. 18.2.25 appointment to see nurse, very professional. 21.2.25 appointment to see Dr. After examination referred to Royal Hospital. Received appointment date & referral letter same day. Very pleased with the service. Big thanyou all round.

Fantastic phoned up 9:15am spoken with the receptionist gave some symptoms so I could be booked in with the appropriate person was given an appointment for 5:30pm the same day with a Doctor because that was who was deemed appropriate to deal with the problem I had straight in on time listened to my concerns thoroughly talked through what he could do to help me recommended blood tests and sorted me a prescription out I booked my tests back on the reception and picked up my prescription from the pharmacy no messing about straight in sorted and out excellent service Thankyou.

I attended Killamarsh practice at 11.10 .03/02/25 and was attended to by a female doctor , I was treated like a problem! She was patronising rude and inpatient, I ask her to look at my head as I about to leave, she told me to make another appointment? She could have examined it in around 1 minute, she couldn’t wait to get me out. I was shocked.

It is true that time management is very important. For example, if each appointment ran over by only a couple of minutes, the last few patients of the day may have to come back as the practice would close. After finally managing to get an appointment, seeing the doctor and establishing I needed some medication I was told the prescription had been sent to the pharmacy. The pharmacy staff were lovely and asked me to sit and wait until it came through, eventually she said maybe come back tomorrow. I left and returned the following morning (Saturday) to be told there was no prescription. The practice isn’t open Saturday so now I’m left waiting until Monday to find out what’s going on. The medication is showing in the app but says not authorised and never issued. Whatever happened to the doctor handing the prescription to the patient at the end of the consultation?

I saw a physician associate today, both my son and myself have seen her before and on each occasion she is very polite and professional and has taken time to listen and diagnose and answer any questions I may have had.
