  3. Review titled Horrible service

Rated 1 star out of 5

I booked an appointment and had a call from the GP the same day but missed it due to a dentist appointment I had. Tried to call three times 10 minutes after I missed the call as it was urgent and it said ‘you are now 2nd in the queue’ and the call would end as soon as I wasn’t 2nd in the queue anymore.

Staff member was very rude, unhelpful and just didn't listen to me. Seriously needs to work on the manners. Certainly won't be seeing them again

  5. Review titled Pointless remaining with this practice.

Rated 1 star out of 5

    by A.Cheetham - Posted on 18 July 2023

It doesn’t matter on what particular day one tries to get an appointment at this surgery, the only way to do so is to complete a form. In the time it takes to complete this form (one can’t do it in advance), all appointments have been allocated and have gone. This can be in as little as 5 minutes. The service is appalling. No wonder the A&E departments are overburdened. The system of allocation of appointments at this practice needs investigating. In the meantime, my advice to any member of the public wishing to seek a GP appointment, is to go to practice where getting an appointment is less like winning the national lottery.

  6. Review titled Unable to book a blood test at reception

by AKA - Posted on 09 March 2023

Saw a clinician for an appointment and they advised patient to go to reception to book in for some bloods. When we asked at the reception, the receptionist stated they couldn’t do this - their sole job is to book GP appointment and anything else they can’t do! They stated I needed to go home and ring the Practice so someone else could book an appointment for bloods! And this was the system they have in place - you cannot book for a bloods appointment in person! No concern as to whether I had access to a phone or the credit to even ring - how is this an acceptable practice to have in operation? I then asked to speak to manegement - I was told that this wouldn't be possible, making things even more ridiculous! I have been told that others have had issues with getting to speak to senior practice staff as well. Surely you can do better than this - a reception that can only book GP appts, and patients unable to speak to anyone in charge.

  7. Review titled Should be shut down immediately

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 12 December 2022

This surgery should have closed down ages ago. They should shut down this surgery immediately. It’s been a week I filled out the appointment form for my 5 year old daughter and until now no one has called back. Every time I call they say someone will call with a really bad manners. The receptionist is very rude.

  8. Review titled Just go private

Rated 1 star out of 5

They have new system! On line form to fill in from 8am - 10am for them to assess then they contact you later that day. Not everyone is on line or able to do this However no point as each day they decide what time to turn the system off. Total Mis information day in day out. Tried filling form in Monday - system switched off 9.40am Rang reception told try day after. I did. No joy system turned off at 9am. Rang reception “oh we closed on line early as we having staff training”. Didn’t they know that the day before? Why not mention it then. Tried day after system turned off at 9.30am. Rang again. “Oh we turned system off early as we had a lot of forms”. During these three days I tried to get an appointment my grandson aged eight was ill. high temperature sore throat etc. no joy with out of hours service. They don’t even answer due to high call volume. No way would I go to A & E and wait for 12 hours at least so we paid £69 for a private appointment at an urgent care centre this side of Manchester We were seen straight away an given a private prescription for another £20 on a Friday night at 7pm. Ha! They even offered us tea an coffee an the doctor we saw was in no rush and took time to listen an thorough examination given strep A is going round. I would urge any one that can afford to pay to use this service an give your support to services like this do so, if only to help you keep sane an stop you having a mental breakdown dealing with people that clearly need more that one day staff training

  9. Review titled Waiting for people to die

Rated 1 star out of 5

    by Mr N.Miah - Posted on 20 May 2022

This shambles of a practice is frustrating from the phone call right to when you get to speak to a medic. The doctors refuse to see anyone face to face, and if they call back, the won’t do much other than give platitudes. My mother has spent more days in a&e this year than at the surgery as they just won’t see her or do anything about the issues, and we are forced to take her to a&e. it’s becoming ridiculous. I feel like they are just waiting for people to die, or they have doctors who are too afraid to treat people

Dear Patient Sorry for the late reply We are operating online triage system , where a clinician will triage all clinical requests that come into the practice to help determine their urgency and allocate appointments accordingly. We appreciate that the phone system, put in place across Oldham By GMSS, has led to significant waiting times to contact reception. By introducing a triage model, we can deal with requests in timely manner for patients. We hope that most requests will be submitted online but will continue to provide the facility for patients to contact reception where they may find online services difficult to access. On our website, there will be lots of health information, and by filling in a simple online form you can obtain advice and treatment. Conveniently, you can send your request in between 7:00 am and 11:30 am . This time has been limited for now, while we understand our ability to manage demand. This may change to allow wider hours of access in time in the future. Your enquiry will then be dealt with by the most appropriate member of staff who will contact you via phone or text. If you are unable to use or access the online form, then please contact the Surgery in the usual way, and a member of our team will help complete the request for you Kapur Family Care
