    on the 17/04/2024,i had to visit this practice (john smiths ) to see a nursing assistant,at the time feeling very unwell,the doctor was called,the manager was also present at the time,i was kept there,whilst the manager called an ambulance,being very concerned,and said this was needed,whilst others, ( doctor and nursing assistant ) carried on with there duties with other patients,i was observed by the practice manager at all times,whilst fulfilling duties,being the norm,whilst seeing other patients passing me,it became apparent,that this is what this practice does,look after there patients,and there welfare,as far as i was concerned,i had the best possible care and attention,on the day,and, previous visits to this practice.

    although i normally have good se rvice,during the last 2 weeks,have found a problem with reception staff,feel could do,with a little more training,

    I am sorry to leave this review however this kind of unpleasant situation happened to me before! I called the GP last Friday regarding my repeat prescription as I had few more pills left and I was told that the doctor have to review the medication,as I am taking them for 5 months now,to see how I am feeling. I let them know that I need the medication no later than Monday and I was told that I will get a call back in that day to discuss about the appointment! Unfortunately I did not receive any call back from the GP by Wednesday when I called them back to see what is going on with my prescription.Of course, nobody knew what happened,I had no appointment booked for the medication review and I did not know a thing about what was going on. I had to wait until Friday,the 6th of October,to discuss with the pharmacist regarding the medication.I told to the receptionist that I have no medication and I was told that she is not a doctor and she cannot help.The big Friday came ,I had the appointment with the pharmacist,I said that I am ok with the medication however I have withdrawal symptoms as I didn't take them from Monday! She said that will ask the doctor to issue the prescription and I will get a call back, again,..to go and collect it. This never happened so I decided to give them a call back , around 4:30 pm,in that day,to see what is going on.I was told that the doctor didn't issue the prescription yet and that the receptionist will ask the doctor about the matter and I will get a call back,by the closing time,to go and collect my prescription.This never happened,again,and now I am without medication by Monday,when I have to call them again and who knows what issues I will encounter again! I know that they are busy and maybe they encounter a shortage regarding the work force , however there are serious illnesses that need to be taken into account seriously. This is not the only issue I had! I decided to leave this review thinking that,maybe,I can bring an improvement in terms of professionalism. Thank you.

  4. Review titled can't even sign up

    I did sign up for this practice back in may 2023 (moved to new address , so had to change gp) at the time of writing this I am still not signed up. At the begining I signed up online on their website , then they followed up with appointment for standard measurment and then they said "should take up to 2 weeks to update nhs app". I didn't hear anything from them for 3 months and when I chased them for update they said "you need to provide proof of address". No one ever mentioned that until that point. I provided proof of address . And still my nhs profile is not updated neither I can access account on their website. So far I was trying to get specialist appointment via nhs for almost 2 years and yet still unsuccessful. Please avoid this surgery as to me looks like new patients won't have access to gp services.
