  1. Review titled Poor support

Rated 1 star out of 5

by June Murray - Posted on 27 March 2023

I tried to have a conversation with the prescription helpline, it really should not be that difficult to ask for my prescription to be updated so I can proceed with repeat prescriptions. First of all the person could not wait to terminate the call and told to to write in, really? In this age of electronic communication, I have to write a letter just to ask if I can have something I was prescribed, but has not been input onto the system. The customer support is appalling.

  2. Review titled Good experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I have just joined this practice and although like everywhere they are super busy, the difference in how you are treated and spoken to you compared to my last practice is incredible. The reception staff and secretaries are polite and professional. The doctor I saw took time to know me and understand my problem, and provide supportive advice and solutions. I am really happy to be a patient of this practice.

  3. Review titled Time consuming mix up.

Rated 3 stars out of 5

3 weeks ago asked if l could have blood test to check my cholesterol and thyroid, was given appointment for 24/1 with nurse. Today nurse said could not do test without form from doctor. so was given an appointment for a telephone conversation with doctor for 31/1. so this whole process has taken so far 4 weeks, as soon as l speak to the doctor there will be another period of time before l can have the blood test done, then l will have to wait for the result. All l am trying to do is look after my own health by being proactive in checking things which can be a ticking time bomb ie high cholesterol. What would have helped is as this problem was caused by a member of staff at Humber Road ( l should have been told l need to see doctor first) is if they would have said look sit and wait and we will have a word with a doctor and see if we can get a blood test sorted for you. Its ok to admit a mistake has been made, the public will be fine they just need help, not to be treated like an irritation.

  4. Review titled I finally feel heard

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I've been a patient for many years and like others have struggled with the changes. I also struggled with my own change and was recommended Dr Field by a friend. She was so empathetic and knowledgeable about HRT. I felt heard and already feeling better. It was very difficult getting an appointment with the specific GP I wanted but worth it in the end.

Dear Patient, Thank you for taking the time to write this review. I am so glad you were happy with the care provided by Dr Field. We have launched a new appointment system with pre-bookable appointments, we have recruited more receptionists and utilised online services for appointment booking. We hope this will support continuity of care for patients wishing to see a particular clinician. I will share your kind comments with Dr Field. Thank you. Chelmer Medical Partnership.

  5. Review titled Looong Waiting time for Appointment calls

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 22 June 2022

I have been with this GP for the past 6 years and in the last 2 years i have noticed degradation in their service, very difficult to get through to the receptionist for any queries and minimum 20 mins of wait time when we call for an appointment. This is unfair on the patients to have such a long wait time. I really hope surgery takes this feedback and improves their service.

Dear Patient, Thank you for your feedback. We are aware of the huge demand on our telephone lines and are taking a number of measures to elevate the issues patients are facing. We are recruiting more receptionists and installing more telephone options to divert calls from reception to the correct department. We have also utilised online services and have updated our website to enable patients to contact the surgery electronically with queries and enable patients to book GP and phlebotomy appointments via SystmOnline and the NHS app. We anticipate that this will alleviate the pressures on the telephone lines enabling patients who cannot access these electronic options or patients with urgent issues to get through to the reception team more promptly and support continuity of care. We are beginning to promote these changes through posters and the website and hope this will begin to make a positive difference very soon. Thank you. Chelmer Medical Partnership.
