    Reception staff is so unprofessional and not trained at all. After Christmas my husbad had influenza which led to cardiac problem and was hospitalised for a month. On discharge we were advised to see our GP. Since my husband had cough and we didn’t want to risk so, We called at reception and they gave appointment after 15 days even though we explained the whole situation. We also asked them that since my husband is not going for work, we need something from GP to give the employer and the lady said we have to pay for that. I was so surprised since when we started to pay nhs. So we called hospital and they were very generous to issue a letter. And GP gave us at the appointment and he was also very upset how come they ask you to pay. Reception staff don’t even read the letters they receive from hospitals. We asked them did you get all the documents from hospital and did they refer my husband and kids for further testing required and they said no, so we emailed everything ( 2-02-24) but to our surprise they said on 12-02-2024 ( our appointment day)they got only one email with 4 attachment. I really wonder how come this can happen, same email id and the person gets only half of information. Anyhow we copied everything, and took the receiving with the name of the person and date. Most amazing thing is we get a message to book appointment to discuss clinical letter. So we called and the lady over the phone had no idea what to do with referral. We sent everything on 02-02-2024 and today is 14-02-2024 and still they have no idea what and how to do referrals for my children. I believe all the staff need to be trained and understand the process. Top of everything reading and understanding the hospital letters should be mandatory so that patients don’t feel helpless and harassed. Only reason we are still with them is the doctors, they have really good team of doctors but something seriously need to be done for reception staff.

  2. Review titled Reception Manager Rude and Unprofessional

    I left a message yesterday with a receptionist for the manager to call me. She was extremely heartless and rude. She is not medically qualified and I explained my cousin has end stage illnesses and needs support from the Dr and we would like to speak to him as urgent and to expedite. She said they dont do that and she did not understand the severity of the medical condition. I explained to her that she is not medically qualified to say this as she doesnt understand the severity. She did not care and was defensive and not caring at all so how can she be a reception manager? She needs to treat people with kindness listen and help not be awkward and unhelpful and cause more stress! She did not care at all very sad that people who are ill have to call Dr Surgeries to be treated in this manner and suffer

    I’ve had a few appointments with a GP here and I have been very happy with the care and service received. I felt listened to and that appropriate action was taken for my concerns. Very appreciative of this as working in the NHS I empathise with the huge pressures staff are under. Thank you.

    I attended hounslow medical centre, 2nd surgery, face to face on 7 march 2023 and phone consultation on 16 march 2023. GPs listened my medical history, asked me questions, answered to my questions and took appropriate actions of advising, prescribing and referring to hospital consultant. I recommend this surgery and staff to all new-comers looking for medical help.
