  1. Review titled prompt service

Rated 4 stars out of 5

    by S.Rule - Posted on 10 April 2025

After initial difficulty with the new e consult appointment booking system, I managed to submit my request for an appointment. I was promptly telephoned within the hour and given an appointment with a doctor. The gp was very polite and thorough, I was then referred to DVH for further review of my symptoms. Considering the difficulties the NHS staff manage under, I was afforded a good service from both my gp surgery and the hospital today 10/04/2025. Many thanks. The only comment for possible improvement would be the reception area within the go surgery where patients book in which has no privacy at all. Whilst sitting in waiting area all conversations can be heard which is rather unfortunate, apart from this I cannot fault my service experience provided by this surgery.

  2. Review titled Lovely Practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Been a patient here the past 36 years. The staff are very caring and helpful. I am very happy with the way my chronic health condition has been managed by my Gp over the years. They have recently made changes to the way patients access appointments and I am very satisfied with the new system. Recently had my COVID vaccination there. Could not fault it from booking the appointment to seeing the nurse to have it done.

It was reassuring to speak to a helpful, patient and kind receptionist who was willing to spend a little time to ensure that I was happy and understood such things as procedures and new systems.

  4. Review titled Uncaring

My aunt is a Type 1 Diabetic, she'd been having palpations and high blood sugars. She went into the doctors twice in the span of 4 days, only to be told nothing. We ended up having to go to A&E where they found she had a tonsil infection. Neither doctor checked her over for any sort of infection, they just took her blood pressure and sent her off. We sat in A&E for 6 hours just to be given antibiotics. Is that not what a GP is for? I understand that the NHS is struggling and understaffed, but there just seems to be a rush with this Surgery to get you in and out the door as quick as possible. Like they don't even care to help. This is also not the first issue we've had with them—before the triage system was set up, you'd spend 2 hours waiting on the phone just to be cut off whilst the receptionists sat around having a chat. It took 3 years of doctors appointments for my mother to get a diagnosis because no one was willing to investigate. Just feels like no one in that surgery cares.

  6. Review titled New appointment system

Rated 1 star out of 5

I was actually rather happy with the doctors and other team at the practice and this is nothing to do with them! As someone suffering from a long term injury and chronic pain I require seeing a doctor semi regularly. The new appointment system will be the reason I am leaving! Have to book online and not just being able to call up and speak to a human is the most ridiculous idea I’ve ever heard of. This is a doctor surgery isn't it? How are persons not adept with the internet supposed to get help. Also going through triage every time I need a follow up appointment with the same doctor for the same issue is tiresome and completely unnecessary. Thank you to the doctors, nurses and team however this new system mean I will be leaving and so will the rest of my family and friends.

  7. Review titled Lots of improvement

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Farida M - Posted on 03 September 2024

Just went to see the practice nurse and it was a very pleasant experience. She was very kind and compassionate and took time to listen to my concerns. The practice had many changes recently and they have all been positive in my experience.

  8. Review titled Not a good practice at all

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 24 July 2024

The appointment system is awful, I never get an appointment when I need. Let alone face to face even telephone consultation appointment is never available. It appears that The practice has no protocol for regular/routine blood tests for their patients not even for those patients who have compromised immune system. I was feeling unwell off and on since past 3 weeks hence I wanted to see my GP and discuss and get blood test done so at least I know if I have some vitamin or any deficiency or is there any other cause but each morning I called the surgery sharp at 8am, I have to wait on a long queue either to get cut off or being told that there are no appts available on the day so have to call them next day again at 8!! Next same disappointment. Few times there was recorded message that there was a staff training day so it was closed in the morning. All I needed was to see my GP for assurance that if I am in need of any medication I can have one. Nevermind luckily I am feeling better but still I need to have a full blood test to ensure that nothing new has developed in my health condition. I understand that GP’s and our entire NHS system is under so much pressure but I do deserve to get to see my GP face to face when I am generally feeling unwell.

  9. Review titled Rude and dismissive

by Anonymous - Posted on 27 May 2024

Consulted 111 who booked a telephone appointment for me. Without any Dr speaking to me I received a very sarcastic message to go to E.D with my issue. I responded that it’s not a life threatening situation is that appropriate and they just repeated that’s the message the Dr sends. I went instead to urgent care centre who were very professional and helpful, diagnosis made, prescription for acute treatment given and forward management plan instigated. I feel vindicated that I am not imagining my symptoms and that treatment will help alleviate my suffering which has needlessly been prolonged!
