  1. Review titled Terrible reception system.

Rated 2 stars out of 5

    by G. Davies - Posted on 13 July 2023

Frustration has finally led to me writing this. The reception system is impossible to deal with. I have the same issue every time. Whichever option you choose feeds you into the same queue, which only ever seems to get longer. I need to book a blood test; the recorded message tells me not to use the e-consult for this (which is closed anyway), and instead to call. But also it states that the phone system is at capacity for the day. It is 11:20 am and I can't even book a blood test. Please stop hiding behind recorded messages. If you have no appointments for 3 weeks, 6 weeks, whatever, then please just tell me that and I can at least get in the line. I don't have all day to sit on the phone, I'm normally working when your e-consult is open and can't get online. Many people don't sit behind a desk all day with access to the internet. I avoid calling or even using the practice at all costs because of these systems, which I can only conclude are designed to frustrate to hide the fact that there are no appointments. I finally received a message on the phone at noon stating that the practice is now closed for staff training and will re-open tomorrow. Funnily enough, this happens every day that I need to call. They must be very well-trained staff. This is an absolute joke. The doctors, when you finally get to speak to them, are very helpful. You just have to find a way past the gatekeepers first.

  2. Review titled Very helpful today

Rated 4 stars out of 5

My husband is currently unwell with a probable chest infection. I was very worried about how on earth we could get him some prompt treatment knowing how challenging it is to get an appointment or even get through by phone. I rang this afternoon, explained my concerns and got a call from the Duty GP within minutes. Couldn't ask for more prompt care.

  3. Review titled Incompetent Practice

I had a blood test on the 20th of March. Went to the practice to check the results and was told that the hospital couldn’t carry out the tests because they arrived from the doctors too late. Asked why I wasn’t called for a retest, was told that nobody had looked for the results or the hospitals comments. I am now back to square 1 and I am booked into have another blood test on the 19th April.

  5. Review titled Needs to be taken into supervision

Sadly the practice has completely disintegrated. It's completely impossible to get an appointment and they don't even do routine checks any more. I'm asthmatic and haven't been contacted about a review for 4 years. I'm on blood pressure medication and haven't had the annual blood test for two years. If you're registered with this practice you're on your own. You'll need to pay for private healthcare, as I did last time I needed to see a GP. It's a waste of space, the NHS should close this practice.
