I’ve been wondering how an ‘outstanding’ practice with good access could deteriorate so badly over the past couple of years. Now I find it practically impossible to get help for routine or urgent problems. My son was really poorly but called at 9am after all appointments were filled and told ‘no help available’. I found out today that the longstanding GPs had sold the practice to a big American private company - Operose Health. That explains a lot! It seems that Operose are selling the practice on (presumably at a profit) to hcrg another private uk owner. Don’t expect any improvements to your care soon!

I rang the surgery for a very sensitive issue which was dealt with very professionally by reception staff. When I arrived for my appointment, the reception staff were getting a lot of grief from patients over things out of their control. I felt really sorry for them so just wanted to say thank you for everything you do and you’re doing a great job!

This practice used to be outstanding, the staff are lovely both on reception and the health professionals. The issue at this practice is actually being able to get an appointment for anything they don't classify as urgent enough, if you fall in this category it is a struggle to get an appointment. Although other practices offer pre bookables for this type of appointment and thus avoid trapping patients in a never ending cycle of the need to ring twice daily for an appointment yet still be able to fail to secure an appointment and in my case its been two weeks and counting this practice does not yet know when they will return to such a service so for anything they classify as not urgent enough you can easily find yourself trapped in their system of having to ring twice daily until one day you might get lucky and might get an appointment, as with lotteries sometimes you are lucky and will in this case secure an appointment yet sometimes you aren't lucky and will in this case like me fail to secure an appointment two weeks and counting.

I have been registered with this surgery for over 10 years and have had blood pressure medication and regular checkups in that time until 2020. Since then, I have not heard a peep from them about my blood pressure until I receive a text message asking me to submit my BP reading online. Which raises a couple of issues ... Firstly, how are they able to judge my health accurately if they have no idea whether the reading is accurate or been taken correctly. Just as concerning - I specifically instructed the surgery (and my request was acknowledged) to not share my medical records or any information that they hold about me with any third parties. And then check out the company sending the text on their behalf re the BP checks and find they are massive data processors. No thanks.
