  1. Review titled GP swapped without being informed

Rated 2 stars out of 5

I accidentally found out in December that I was no longer with my 13 years' GP and was swapped to another GP. This is because my GP reduced her working hours. First, not informing patients of that decision and its rationale shows no care for patients as individuals. Second, not providing any information prior that decision being made demonstrates poor process handling by the practice manager. Finally, the lack of transparency regarding how the practice decided which patients were to stay with that GP and which ones were to be moved to another GP highlights an opaque way of functioning with powerless patients as recipients. This has been poorly handled.

  2. Review titled On a downhill trajectory

The pharmacy here is becoming a real problem. In recent months they have become more disorganised and lacking in customer focus. They require 7 working days for prescriptions to be filled. I left mine 8 to be on the safe side only to get there and find them closed. No proactive notification provided to patients. Went the following day (working day 9). Had to queue for over 20 minutes whilst the one person dispensing tried to deal with the 5 people in front of me. She spent ages looking for things, finding out why things weren't right, printing labels etc. The admin seems a problem. When I got my turn (9 working days and 20 odd queueing minutes after my request) I was told one item on my prescription and one on my partner's were missing. No pre-notification. No explanation. I wasn't the only one being given this message. When will they arrive we'd all asked. Don't know we were all told. "We'll order them and see what comes in" was the stock answer. Even with the stuff they did have, labels had to be printed and bags checked, whilst the queue grew. Why can't they proactively communicate with customers - tell us when you're closed. Tell us there's a supply problem. Manage the supply problem (I was told I could come back next week for a printed prescription so I could shop around pharmacies to see if anyone had the drugs!). Clearly they have an issue across a wide range of drugs and they are too understaffed or poorly managed to do anything about it. The staff do seem to change frequently - is there an underlying problem here? Sadly it's starting to become a failing service and it needs looking at.

  3. Review titled Failing Patients at the door

A GP surgery in absolute shambles, you can not get appointments, even for future dates. If you do manage to get through to a very unhelpful and avoidant reception team then good luck, because it’s unlikely you’ll receive anymore than a phone call and a whole sherrard before you ever get to see someone to address your problem. I understand the countrywide pressure on the NHS, but a surgery that is avoiding patients by sending them through a chaotic series of hoops before getting any help whatsoever is a surgery that is ultimately failing it’s patients and community. A real disappointment.
