  1. Review titled Importance of prompt medication review

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Kevin - Posted on 10 April 2024

I needed to order my meds before going on holiday. Logged in and found I needed a meds review. Visited the practice and explained the situation. The receptionist could only offer a phone review in 4 weeks time but said that she had now ordered my meds. I went to well pharmacy 5 days later and they had received nothing from a GP. I returned to reception and explained the issue. Receptionist asked for help from other receptionist and between them, they confirmed my telephone review and again said my meds were now ordered. Following day, back to well pharmacy following txt to say meds were ready and found only one of my two regular meds had been ordered. Even though the missing item was available for collection towards the end of the following day I had no time left to collect it before going on holiday. A pharmacist recommended an alternative which, it turned out. I had a reaction to. Result: I needed treatment, tests, CT scan abroad. A simple review in the week following my initial request would have saved the loss of a holiday and a substantial insurance claim.

  2. Review titled Excellent practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I have nothing but good to say about this practice. Everyone has been so helpful and kind whenever their expertise has been needed. Recently the lady on reception went out of her way to assist me because the online prescription procedure was proving problematic.

  3. Review titled Deteriorated beyond belief

Rated 1 star out of 5

Had a recent health check and was advised to request a further advanced nurse appointment next day. Next day I am told appointments for advanced nurse weren’t available and would need to call back after 10.00am four days later. Four days later I call after ten and cannot be put through try later. Try later (after several attempts10.20) and I get recorded voice saying I am seven in que but press a specific number to receive callback. Pressed the number and - No callback has occurred since! So I am not pursuing any further attempts and will just deal with my excessive pain and my other worrying symptoms. The concerning thing is I’ve never seen a doctor in the past three years. Actually feeling cared for anymore from this practice has left the room! Times are hard I know but seriously what’s happened to this practice?

  4. Review titled Great Practice - intolerable impatient doctor

Rated 1 star out of 5

Need a different doctor. Rattles on with a super expanded question, one tries to answer said question, only to be talked over. It is then that one has to repeat ones self. So tiring. Just a note, about the notes that need to be read, prior to calling up about the notes you should have read. I am contemplating switching to a different medical centre.

  5. Review titled Poor communication system

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Derek Moffatt - Posted on 04 November 2022

The communication system in place for patients attempting to make contact with reception is dreadful with extremely long waiting times First we are subjected to well overplayed and long explanation on surgery “new ways of working” procedures ending in a rather abusively put message and warning “We are here to help you get the care you need” Then you are put into a queue which more often than not can put you in up to eighth waiting place. Does the practice realise how much this is costing patients for the cost of the phone call with many elderly pensioners already struggling financially ? This system the practice has in operation is outdated , overdue an update with a quicker and more polite means of accepting incoming calls. The above is something the Practice Manager should give serious consideration into rectifying. In fairness I must add once connected, the receptionists are both courteous and friendly followed by excellent medical attention on offer.

  6. Review titled Poor Service

Rated 1 star out of 5

Had two appointments booked within 15 mins of each other, waited over 45 minutes for the first one and then found out the person wasn't at the practise. This is very poor and not acceptable at all, this appointment was booked in for 08.30 in the morning so when the surgery is opened at 08:00 to wait this kind of time is again unacceptable

Presented at the surgery with my 10 month old daughter who had a high temperature and feeling very unwell. I had an appointment later that afternoon but they told me to call if she is deteriorated which she did. I couldn’t get through on the phone so I juts went down there and the care we received was phenomenal. We were seen within 20 minutes. Thank you to all the staff and doctors. Definitely put a first time mums worries to rest.

  9. Review titled disgusting

yet again I get an unsympathetic discussion with the receptionist who was taking calls I have mental health issues and was following advice given by a professional hospital doctor to make a face to face appointment with a practitioner.....utter disrespect and probably a severe lack of training in people skills The practice is turning into a joke , the partners must see these reviews yet ponce about and let trainees deal with the problems They should own up there downfall and reply to these comments themselves instead of the nhs making comments on their behalf
