  1. Review titled Terrible service.

I went to have bloods taken for testing with a nurse who lacked any sort of empathy to the point of just being plain rude. When I pointed out that it was normal to find that it was sometimes difficult to take blood from me, she rudely stated that this should have been recorded on my notes and because of this, 'I had wasted both our time' in the process. I'm sorry, but I always assumed that recording entries in my medical notes was the job of a medical professional. I was then abruptly referred to the Friarage in Northallerton to have the test. When I finally drove all the way there, I was then told that they did not undertake that particular service and should not have been referred to them by this Clinic in the first place. Shocking treatment.

  2. Review titled Understanding and stigma-free

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Very positive experience with the Sexual Health clinic. I was feeling very uptight, upset, and ashamed of symptoms, and the nurses put me very much at ease. They spoke to me with an empathetic approach, and were easy to speak and disclose to. I didn't feel stigmatised like I have on occasion at regular checkups at other clinics. Definitely feel like if I have any issues or queries in the future that I can approach them.

Rude receptionist, uninterested and dismissive of any details I tried to provide. 8 day wait time to be see/heard, after being told by 111 to contact the practice within 3 hours.

  4. Review titled Outstanding service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

This practice is great! Their service is second to none and everyone I’ve dealt with is extremely compassionate and friendly. We’re so lucky to have such hard working and caring people within the nhs but this surgery really does stand out for all the right reasons. Thank you for all you do. I think people go out of their way to write negative reviews but I really can’t tell you enough how lucky my family and I feel to know we have this practice and the fabulous staff working within our community.

Had blood in my urine and a swab was taken which was very roughly done told results back in two days which was last Friday. Phoned up told not back ring after the Bank holiday. Rung on Tuesday at 12 45 told yes back but the Doctor has to se them ring back later. Rung back later told not in yet i said do not know what to believe as told at lunchtime they were in, Hold on off she went came back and said the Doctor said he wants the scan results you are having done tomorrow before he comments, Why not tell people this instead of messing about, Comes to something when a professional place like Doctors starts lying to a patient, So not happy at all.

  6. Review titled Terrible and non-compassionate service.

Rated 1 star out of 5

I had an appointment and was advised during the appointment that they can not help me with my problem and I had to call around my previous GP's to obtain all my medical documents (which baffled me as I'm almost certain that the GP has to request this) The receptionist wanted to know what my appointment was about when rebooking which I am happy to give brief detail of and when I did she looked at me puzzled and asked why again for further detail. I was advised that I would need to keep copies of all my medical records as we move about often due to the nature of my husbands job and they would not start investigations until I had obtained my previous records as it is "a wasteful resource of the NHS's time and service as-well as my own". During my appointment I felt rushed and not listened to, I have now moved practice.

  7. Review titled Poor service

After being advised by 111 2 times to insist that our baby was seen by a clinician within the hour, the receptionist said no appointments and to phone back tomorrow. Our baby had severe vomiting and diarrhoea and hadn’t had a wet nappy for 48 hours. The receptionist shown no compassion and the tone and language she used was atrocious. She didn’t ask 1 question ie sepsis etc and we are now in another county getting seen by a doctor. This is completely unacceptable service, I understand the pressure doctors are under but please, a receptionist making life or death decisions.

After having breast surgery for cancer, rang the practice to ask if possible to ask if someone was able to help to provide some dressings(I had used up the ones from the hospital) and also to change/look to make sure all is ok only to be told we do not have any dressings here so could not help me !!!!!

  9. Review titled Great service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I needed fast service due to a possible infection and the staff were great. The receptionist was compassionate, I got a telephone appointment on the day and antibiotics prescribed, all ready to be collected within a couple of hours. This is not a one off, they are always attentive, helpful and show great care, despite being extremely busy. And the open access appointments after 6pm are a Godsent for people like myself who work full-time. Great surgery!

  10. Review titled Awful staff and non-existent politeness

Rated 1 star out of 5

If you have the misfortune to use this practice then you can be sure to receive no empathy and rude staff throughout the practice. There are a couple good nurses in the practice but apart from that I only ever go in when I absolutely need to. They make you feel like you're wasting their time with your genuine medical concerns and even simple repeat prescriptions are a nightmare. Worst of all, they don't seem to know what they are doing for example, I needed to have rabies vaccinations for a possible exposure while abroad, they refused to see me or listen to my concerns. They did finally see me after I spoke with the National Exotic Diseases team and they made sure I was seen to. Even then the they told me my vaccine cannot be administered for another month as they have no slots and I essentially had to beg them that I need to have them next week or I could die. Awful awful experience. Avoid like the plague.
