I have been trying to get a diagnosis for ADHD and autism for years, i’ve just recently turned 18 so i was taken off the children services and told to re apply when i turned 18. I booked another appointment with my gp and went with my mum to get referred to a right to choose service specifically clinical partners. However we got there and had an appointment with a brand new doctor who i’d never seen before and they didn’t know anything about my history with this problem or what i had previously filled out which was on the system that they got up in front of us. We had to repeat information that we have repeated countless times and that was already on the system. The doctor didn’t know what right to choose was and when I told them which provider I wanted to use they didn’t know what I was on about. Then when the appointment was over I was trying to ask when we’d hear if they’ve put my referral in and where to they said to ring back in 4 weeks and see if they had even put the referral in.

I arrived 5 minutes before my appointment the receptionist took my name and asked me to take a seat, 40 minutes later I was still waiting. When I checked in it would have been nice to have been told the doctor was running late. 10/15 minutes is expected but in the end I was there 50 minutes before I was seen. It’s only a small practice maybe sending a txt to the patients when the doctor is running over 30 mins late could be an idea?

It was so nice to be greeted with a friendly welcome, not a computer screen and to be advised that I would be seen next at my appointed time. I wasn’t hailed by a screened device on a wall but was greeted by the nurse who was carrying out today’s task and taken to her treatment room. I didn’t have to find my own way. I could also make an appointment for a future well woman check without having to phone in “because they no longer make appointments on site”. I’m hoping this 1st experience is repeated….not too often, obviously. But having dealt with large combined practices for both my parents and ourselves over the last few years, this was like a breath of fresh air and how things used to be.

If I can see my regular doctor then I am happy, he is straight talking which I like, always thorough and always happy to request further tests and scans when required. I always try to avoid locums as they can be a mixed bag some good some not so good. Overall I am happy with the practice and my doctor although repeat prescriptions can be problematic, for example no automatic notification if a request is refused.

Had appointment with the Dr , listened and understood my needs. Kind and caring manner.Prescribed medication , a good experience . All the staff very kind especially the Nurse whom I have seen on a number of occasions.Love this practice , easy to get an appointment, would recommend to anyone
