    It's unfortunate to have to leave this review. When I joined this GP five years ago, I found it refreshingly efficient, and even encouraged friends/family in the area to switch to Hanley. Perhaps it is a victim of its past success. Sadly, despite regularly trying via the app and phone call early in the morning, I haven't been able to get an appointment for several months. I sympathise with the government cuts that have no doubt lead to this situation, but I cannot in good faith continue to recommend a GP practice where it is impossible to ever see or even speak to a health professional.

    No one is picking up my call. They asked me to call back but they wouldn’t answer my call nor call Me back. They will cancel my ordered medication without telling me the reason. There’s even this one rude lady who told me she needed to cut my call so that she can answer the call after me because I had been with her for 7 minutes ! So she needed to answer the call after me without even asking if my concern was solve. I was on queue for that call for half an hour.

    Absolutely impossible to get an appointment, get prescriptions filled (even repeat ones), or talk to anyone. I was a patient for two years and when I switched to a different GP and requested my records, I was told I'm an inactive patient and they don't have any records of me. Even though I'd been getting rx from them for the previous two years and so now am unable to get the medication I need in time. The staff are rude and incompetent and the patients suffer as a result.

    Overbooks patients and doesn't have time to accommodate needs. Waiting time for the appointments (only same day) is 37+ people online queue when you call sharp on 8am, everyone calls at the same time and it is impossible to get an appointment. They should not accept more patients as they are unable to accommodate needs and dont’ have the capacity to do so. The irony is that the GP practice takes health and medical practice so lightly. It is unethical to allow the GP surgery to practice such sloppy approaches towards patients.

    You cant log into the iq even if its 8am, You call the surgery, you have be on hold for 1hr untill someone picks up the phone and still no appointment available! This surgery is so rubbish now

    It is simply impossible to get an appointment at this practice, and the reception staff seem unwilling to help. They’ll direct you to the app every time, but the app won’t display requesting a consultation as an option, no matter what time of day you try. Calling the practice is also challenging, as you end up on hold as soon as it opens - it is common to then be on hold for 40+min just for the line to go dead and you have to start again. When you finally do get through you’re told all appointments are filled, try again the following day…

    I have had a number of issues which Hanley have been entirely unwilling to help me with. I have eventually gone private for some issues because they need attention no one at Hanley is interested. They will then not respond to my a private consultant and tend to be abrasive whenever I can speak to someone there (sometimes a nurse, usually only reception staff) The latest was a recurring skin problem which I wanted help with. I have been diagnosed with anxiety & even thinking about trying to approach them for any help makes me more anxious because I know it will be a battle. This means I will avoid seeking treatment for issues until they get much worse. I have been registered with the practice for 6 years and things have gradually got worse & worse with them. Their app is almost unusable & the responses in the app are hastily & dismissively written, usually with spelling mistakes too. I do not feel cared for or listened to by anyone at the practice anymore and am looking to register with a different practice. Hanley Primary Care Centre has become disfunctional to the extreme!

    trying to get hrt meds that I’ve been taking a long time seems impossible. tried contacting the doctor for 3 days, sent emails and done dr iq got through again on phone after long long wait to be told I need to call again in the morning. very unprofessional and quite unhelpful staff. this surgery needs a big shake up and reforming. I know a lot of people that have had terrible experiences here the same as me. fortunately I don’t have to call the surgery very often. this is by no way my first bad experience just fed up with the poor service so it’s now time for me to complain.

    Do not bother registering at this practice. They have no regard or compassion for their patients. Constantly making errors that they are then not willing to rectify. Can never get through to them on the phone. Always forgetting to do follow ups. Zero patient care

    Called to book an appointment for my son who has SEN. Was informed that since changing systems on 17 October reception can no longer accommodate disabled patients who can not call at 8 am sharp. Being a single parent to a child with complex disability it’s impossible for me to call at 8 am. When my son is with me, he doesn’t tolerate the phone being on speaker and it’s the time in the morning that I get him ready for for the day or for school transport. My hands are literally and physically on him and I can’t hold the phone. As a result now that my son is unwell he can not get an appointment, at all. This practice makes Gp services inaccessible for my disabled son who requires, at least, medical support . Please resolve that asap
