  1. Review titled Pathetic Service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 26 March 2024

Had visited this gp, the appointment was for 15minutes, firstly the doctor frift should learn to welcome patients and there is only one issue to be addressed in one appointment which is stupidity, when you have finished with 1 issue in 5minutes when you still have 10mins left why is another not taken into consideration? its like you have a running and cough you need to book two appointments for both issue how dumb this can be? i had cough and i conveyed what's happening and soar throat and running nose and stuff, the great doctor advised me to take gaviscon which is for heartburn and acid reflux how dumb a doctor can suggest this when the issue is something different, i would strongly suggest frift to take up her medical classes again, another issue i had been to was for skin redness as i couldnt get an appointment i was trying to apply the cream what i already had and it was reduced a bit, and visit the same doctor where she told i cant see any visible symptoms and can only treat when the redness occurs more as its less now when i have told i have no medications left for now as those creams were bought from india. the doctor is not ready to listen and was rude and said cant treat now and need to book appointment when its severe. I wonder has the doctor lost her brains somewhere. I had the best doctors and healthcare back in India, here its just name sake and not sure for what joy when you dont use the service properly being a student we need to pay so much of money for ihs which doesnt make any sense. Paying ihs needs to an optional by the individual. This gp needs to be either closed or get the respective doctor to learn the medical aspects well again treat the patients warmly. I would never recommend this gp to anyone and one of the pathetic and useless doctor i have come across.

  2. Review titled The secretary is great

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Aseel - Posted on 04 April 2024

I want to say thank you to the secretaries . I would have loved to mention her name but i know names are not allowed. She was compassionate and understanding when I was upset that my daughter’s referral was delayed and the hospital seems to keep saying the referral is not received. She made sure to follow it up thoroughly and keep me updated throughout out. Secretaries at GP practices are heroes behind the scene too so thank you for the job you do.

  3. Review titled Great practice.

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Hiba - Posted on 22 February 2024

So far my experience at the practice has been great. I've seen a couple doctors and they've all been helpful and are investigating my issues thoroughly. I don't feel like I am being fobbed off like I did at other places. Only issue I had initially was getting appointments but the online system fixed that!! I can now book in a f2f or telephone on the day quickly with no issues.

  4. Review titled Wrong item order on prescription

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Michael Heaney - Posted on 31 January 2024

Two days ago I popped into the surgery to fill out a form to renew my prescription. One of the items was insulin. I went to pick up my prescription today and when I got home I discovered there was insulin needles in there (which I didn’t order) but no insulin. I phoned the surgery about this, and it seems they have a problem understanding basic English. Hopefully they might be able to sort it out today.

  5. Review titled Registration

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 16 January 2024

I entered as recommended by nhs website to register, but although we are living in the area nearby, (covered by the gp) we were told we are not. In the nhs website it is said they register people even from other areas, but receptionist just strongly insisted us (me & my husband) to go elsewhere. Even though I can see now the option at nhs website to register there, I will not.

  6. Review titled Consistently great service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by John K. - Posted on 26 July 2023

I've been with the Halcyon for many years, now (including several when they were in basement rooms underneath Boots a few streets away). Though I haven't had need for a GP in a while, some ongoing diverticular/colon problems, plus queries about my blood pressure and associated medications, and statins, meant I saw one today. I booked online and it was quick and straightforward to do. Saw my doctor today and, despite her running behind schedule because of previous patients, she answered all of my questions clearly and patiently, and I'm having tests for the first problem. My doctor here has always been like this, and the reception staff and nurses are great too. A bonus is that there is a proper weighing machine, and a blood pressure machine, in reception which you can use while waiting for your appointment. As ever, five stars from me, no complaints, and I wish that other organisations I dealt with in the wider public sector were as efficient and helpful as the Halcyon and my GP there.

  7. Review titled Excellent practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Karen Clayton - Posted on 18 August 2023

My husband and I joined the practice last year after moving from Four Oaks to the City. We have never ever received such in-depth thorough diagnostic treatment for any problems we presented with. We have had complete MOTs covering every blood test you can imagine, ECGs, referrals to specialist consultants and X-rays. We cannot praise the doctors, nurses and reception staff enough. We are very proud to tell our friends and family about this practice and none of them can believe the difference in treatment compared to their own GP surgery. Thank you Halcyon for making us feel that we’re in safe hands. Well done to all of you.

  8. Review titled Its a scam, you will never book an appointment there.

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 20 April 2023

I got a gout on my right toe. Its swelling and so painful. I have call to book an appointment for 4 times. Everytime the reception just saying the booking for today is full, please call tomorrow at 8 to see if there is any slot available. But if you ring them at 8, the phone recording will just say there are too many people calling right now, please try again later. And probably you can not book for an appointment on that day already. I think this GP is just a scam, u will never see a doctor there. We are not deserve to treat like that, we have pay our tax!!!! You cannot have any expectation with this GP at all.

  9. Review titled Rude receptionist

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 16 March 2023

I had two negative experiences at this surgery within four months, which prompted me to speak up about my most recent encounter today. As a patient seeking medical attention, I hope that the surgery can provide feasible options, whether that's a face-to-face or telephone doctor appointment, or being referred to an urgent treatment center for an appointment. However, during my call with the receptionist at 8:45 am today, I felt like she just wanted to get rid of me. She did not check my name and date of birth to review my medical history, but instead told me to call back tomorrow for an appointment or to walk-in to the urgent treatment center if I thought it was urgent. When I arrived at the urgent treatment center after work at 4:45 pm, I was informed that the center was full and not accepting walk-ins, even though they were open until 8 pm. As a GP receptionist, not only was she rude in trying to get rid of me, but she also failed to inform me that there was a possibility of being seen. I am unsure if patient's needs are prioritized at this surgery. I hope the surgery can provide proper training to their staff and employ someone who prioritizes patient needs.

  10. Review titled Shocking service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 01 February 2023

Yet again I have ended up in A&E because of the complete inability to get an appointment. It is impossible to get through by phone, even to speak to a secretary or practice manager. If you do manage to speak to a receptionist all they say is "You'll have to phone back tomorrow at 8am ". Knowing full well you cannot get through - I was phoning continuously for 2 hours !!!! Yet they are still taking on new patients why ? when they can't provide a service to the ones they already have ?
