    Myself my daughter and my son have all had to use this practice recently. The drs are all lovely and actually listen to your symptoms. The nurses are efficient and put you at ease. I find the econsult service really good. Thank you all for your hard work

    Staff is very very rude. No appointments available at this surgery ever. Even for repeated medication, blood test form need a doctor appointment every time. I’m on thyroid medication they do blood test every 2-3 months time. It’s been over a year I can’t get my blood test form because no appointments with doctor.

    I got a message telling me to call, i called at 12:48, i have been the 4th in the que and from 13:01 until 13:40 i was the 2nd ; because it took so long, i hang up and called back straight away to be greeted by the "the surgery is closed" message. It looks like they are making fun of me by leaving me to wait for almost an hour in the phone when someone could say it's closed. I understand you have to take your breaks but at least inform us to call later as we do have other stuff to do rather than wait in the phone in vain.

    I am very impressed with the care I received recently. The doctor was very thorough and emphatic to a high professional standard. The doctor was very accommodating to my needs. Likewise I owe a debt to the professionalism of the receptionist who enable me to see the GP as prompt as possible as I was suffering with a debilitating condition. Thank you Grove surgery for being there when I needed the service.

    Appalling service and behaviour - I needed them for one thing in the 5 years I was registered there, and the doctor let me down after wasting my time and energy. They initially 'lost' my shotgun certificate form after not processing for a long time due to COVID, then after handing in a new one I was eventually called, to say that the GP had decided they had decided not to participate in firearms licensing, as that was the line that some form of national GP group was taking. I know this was a lie as when I informed the police they were shocked, this was the opposite of what they were aware of. All in all this has caused months more delays to my application, and further costs to me by having to go through a third party service to have my medical details checked.

    These are challenging times for the NHS and General Practice in particular. I feel fortunate to have such a well organised practice that has moved with the times and has always been able to offer me the service I have needed when I have needed it. Well done Grove Surgery.

  8. Review titled First impressions count.

    Having moved to the area I am considering registering at this practice - however I was disappointed at the external appearance of this purpose built health centre. The building is very dirty, windows are dusty and covered in cobwebs. The paved approach is full of weeds and litter plus the doors plastered in A4 notices, faded and torn about 12 in total. The staff and management must see this daily and I must question their standards and diligence ?

    I visited to query about a repeat prescription for medication related to my mental health, having just been to the pharmacy which is next door to the surgery. The main doors to the surgery were wide open; I walked in and waited by the reception desk where the receptionist was busy with some paper work, taking a while to acknowledge me. I started to explain my query and was cut off abruptly by the receptionist who told me I should have phoned rather than coming in. I told her the main doors were open and that I'd just been to the pharmacy next door, and she responded "they shouldn't be [open]", implying I should have known that! After taking my details, she informed me the prescription wasn't ready. So I explained that it stated 'Issued' in the NHS app, and she retorted "that doesn't matter [that it says 'Issued' in the app], because it needs to be signed off by a GP". Like with the open doors, the tone suggested I should know the process and that information/situations presented to me are in fact not what they seem! I cannot think of any other enterprise where a customer being treated like this would be acceptable. If you were treated like this, you'd choose to take your custom elsewhere. Yet you are supposed to remain registered to your local NHS GP surgery, regardless of how much you dread interacting with them!
