  1. Review titled Unprofessional/ never get an appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 02 December 2022

I have never been able to see GP ever since I registered with the surgery. Imagine getting through on phone one day at 8:03hrs and they said they are already full without even listening to you. No customer service from the receptionist. I walked down again another day to meet up at 8:am and it was the same excuse that some of the staff are sick and they don't have anyone to attend to patients the most annoying thing was how the receptionist related to you so unprofessional no appointments were available. It is impossible to get through and once you do there are never any appointments available. This is so frustrating and disappointing. If people have their ways they should avoid this kind of surgery. I am a healthcare worker and I know how passionate I am about my patients. Even if there is workload I communicate effectively. The receptionist are so arrogant. I don't want to generalize to all staff because I have not been able to their nurses or GP. However, they are services are so poor.

Dear Mr Patient, I appreciate that your review was left some time ago but as Green Porch Medical Centres new Practice Manager I want to review/respond to all patient concerns however historic. I’m very sorry and disappointed to hear that you have had continued issues accessing our services at Green Porch Medical Centre and that you’ve been unable to see a doctor/nurse. It’s a challenging time for the NHS at the moment, especially in Primary Care where demand is at an all-time high; though as a healthcare worker I am sure you’re already keenly aware. I understand how frustrating it can be when you need to access your Primary Care Provider only to be told that there are not appointments available. This is not a problem unique to Green Porch Medical Centre and is a challenge that Please rest assured that we are currently exploring all options to improve access to our services across the board. We are in the process of reviewing our clinical rota’s and appointment structure in an attempt to provide more choice and availability for patients. We are hoping to implement a new telecoms service which will allow us to review our data an implement changes in line with demand. We are also looking at staffing levels and are hoping, over time, to increase the size of our team to provide better access and a better service to our patients. These changes will take time and we are not necessarily able to implement these changes all at once, however, please know that the team here at Green Porch are hearing and listening to patient concerns and are actively working to address and rectify those concerns where possible. Patients in Kent and Medway are now able to use an app to view waiting time at local urgent treatment centres (UTC) and minor injuries units (MIU). If we are unable to provide you with a suitable appointment the ‘Waitless’ app can help you make an informed choice on which UTC or MIC to visit should you feel your problem needs clinical support that day. It displays the number of people waiting and the longest waiting times, along with travel information, so patients can decide to visit a site that is not so busy. While I appreciate this is not a solution to the problem of access at GP practices throughout Kent and Medway, the UTC’s and MIU’s are in place to provide patients with care should they find that their GP surgery has no suitable appointments. Perhaps this might be a somewhat helpful solution in future while we address the issues surrounding access here at Green Porch Medical Centre. If you wish to discuss the matter further or have any additional points to raise please feel free to contact me directly at callum.mcque@nhs.net Your sincerely, Callum McQue Practice Manager Green Porch Medical Centre

  3. Review titled No Appointments

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 26 October 2022

After waiting 10 minutes for the phone to be answered I was informed that there were no appointments, I asked if I could get one before the end of the year and was told that the diary doesn't look that far in advance, and I should use the e-consult on the surgery's webpage. When using the e-consult I have to avoid answering the questions honestly because I get the following notification "We can't safely assess your symptoms through this online request. You need to talk to someone today instead." Clearly this isn't possible as there are no appointments, end result is I have to provide inaccurate information in the e-consult system to get a message to the survey about my needs. This situation is unacceptable and putting people's lives at risk.

We are hoping to implement a new telecoms service which will allow us to review our data an implement changes in line with demand. In relation to your specific concerns regarding the e-consult system, the adoption of e-consulting services is a positive change within primary care as it allows patients options when it comes to accessing our services. The problem arises when appointment availability, or lack thereof, means that patients are asked to contact the surgery directly therefore making the e-consult service redundant. I will be reviewing with our clinical team the best and safest way to continue operating the system moving forward. These changes will take time and we are not necessarily able to implement these changes all at once, however, please know that the team here at Green Porch are hearing and listening to patient concerns and are actively working to address and rectify those concerns where possible. 4. Review titled Impossible to get an appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Stephanie - Posted on 17 October 2022

On my 16th telephone call I waited an hour 33 minutes just to be told there are no appointments available. It is impossible to get through and once you do there are never any appointments available. This has been the case in the 5 years we have been registered at the surgery. No appointments on the day and none available to prebook. Incredibly frustrating and disappointing. Staff make no attempt to even try and help. Such a disappointing experience, time and again. Trying desperately to switch to another surgery. Please avoid at all costs.

  5. Review titled No appointment going 3 year.

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 16 August 2022

Since 3 year have joined this surgery I’ve not been seen by GP. They asked you to come to the front door before 8am still yet you won’t get appointment. They’ve turn walk-in centre to their trash where they dump their patient. Can you imagine a 5 years old child having breathing problem after getting to the surgery before 8am still yet no appointment go to walk-in centre. Blood test was done the result did not come back until 4 months after and this was a child blood test.

  6. Review titled 1 month prescriptions backlog

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 12 July 2022

I order my Mum's (in her 80's) prescription online for her each month. The surgery seems to take ages getting the prescriptions to the pharmacy, but the Pharmacist has so far been kind enough to give us the medications that have run out. This month he refused to do that as he has a month's backlog of prescriptions that he has not received from the surgery. My mother is diabetic and has high blood pressure and at her age this medication is essential. I tried calling the surgery twice and after hanging on for over an hour, I gave up. I emailed the practice manager but got no acknowledgement and and incorrect out of office email. I finally got through to the surgery 6 days after prescription was ordered. I think this surgery gets worse each time I deal with them. There is no option left but to change surgeries.

I’m very sorry and disappointed to hear that you have had continued issues with our service at Green Porch Medical Centre and that you have had a number of problems ordering/receiving your mothers prescriptions. 7. Review titled Inadequate rating - I'm not surprised!

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Current Patient - Posted on 28 July 2022

This practice is beyond incompetent. It is impossible to get an appointment. Just today I spent in excess of an hour in the telephone queue just to be told that there are no appointments today - or bookable, what a joke - and that I would need to retry tomorrow at 8am or visit a walk-in centre. It's like getting an appointment with a nurse or doctor is a lottery at this place. There is no duty of care, there is no concern for patients and there is seemingly no improvement being made following the implementation of special measures earlier this year. Additionally, when I request a prescription via the NHS app or via email it is never issued to the chemist correctly and I end up paying two prescription fees for the same medication as it is written over two separate prescriptions. Each time I am told it was an error but it reoccurs each time. This practice needs to be taken over by a competent person who can manage the 8700 patients sufficiently and provide a reasonable level of service.

  8. Review titled Impossible to get a GP Appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 07 June 2022

I have recently had several medical issues and a referral for blood tests after a private health assessment. I had the assessment done privately as it was proving impossible to get an appointment at this surgery. The assessment referred me back to the GP for several blood tests. So far 3 blood appointments have been cancelled and no chance of seeing GP. You ring at 8 am. But the time you get through (20 minutes later and 50 calls later) - all the appointments are gone. I have a throat infection and am left with no option but to go to an already overcrowded A&E at my closest hospital. I find it incredible that this surgery is operating at all. It has certainly not provided any value for my tax pounds.
