Absolutely would recommend the clinician team at Cheswick Green Surgery. I phoned up to get an appointment and the clinician team phoned me back within 5 minutes. Also gave me an appointment to come straight away.

GPS healthcare is impossible to get through to on the phone, always changing their policies on booking appointments but not informing patients of the changes. Some of the receptionists believe they are medical practitioners when asking about reasons for getting an appointment. Triage for a baby takes half of the day so can only ever get evening appointments when they finally call you. This is even when we have filled out the PatchS from at 7.45am, we still have to wait 4-5 hours for an appointment to be given. It's going downhill every year unfortunately. Thankfully the Dr's we have seen have all been very good.

Asked for appointment, had telephone call and appointment same day, very impressed,seen doctor with good examination and health issue dealt with but still ongoing

Nothing was too much trouble from a busy staff and Doctor who managed to find the time to arrange things through all the red tape of the N H S.The booking system at Knowle surgery could be improved.

I arrived at the surgery at 7:40 with 5 people ahead of me. Doors open at 8 and the first 4 people were told they were being put on the triage list. The next person who was in front of me was told there were no appointments left and this was just 5 minutes after opening! I needed an appointment for my daughter who had tonsillitis, so I was told to use the patches app, but when I opened it, it was offline and unusable. I ended up having to ring 111 to speak to someone there who booked us an appointment at another surgery, but then Yew Tree surgery called me later to offer me an appointment for my daughter as the patches app wasn't working. I don't understand why there are so few appointments available, and why they are then further restricted to being able to be booked only through certain channels. It's been getting steadily worse here now since COVID, but it's really reached an all time low a right now. Also when going into the surgery that has no appointments, it is completely empty, which does make us question how can there be no appointments when there's clearly no-one there?!

I tried this method in the hope of getting an appointment. There are never any available appointments, no-one answers the telephone and the receptionist is unhelpful. Last month it took over a week to get my medication as the first request was not signed. Can someone please advise me how I can actually get an appointment?

Dear Joanne, I am sorry to hear of your issues regarding appointments. GPS Healthcare (GPS) appreciates the time you have taken to raise your concerns with us. What is Patchs? The service will be available between Monday to Friday for a limited number of consultations. Patients submit their request via an online form. There is no need to wait in a phone queue or travel to the practice. The request will be sent to the practice, with questions and answers that specifically relate to the request placed. The information provided allows us to book the most appropriate appointment in the most appropriate time-frame. Patchs is an NHS-approved digital triage tool designed to enhance patient access. You will receive a response by 6.30pm the next day or sooner, especially where an urgent assessment may be required. I do hope I have addressed your concerns. Patches is the only way I’ve got to see a doctor. It was very easy to use and I was called back within an hour and got to see a doctor who specialised in my problem. So overall I think Patches is a good idea. I have said I might not recommend to doctors surgery to family and friends because I wouldn’t want more people joining the doctors to slow down getting an appointment

It is difficult to get an appointment or to contact a doctor. Most consultations seem to be conducted by telephone and you have to wait in for a call back.
