    I am on a blood thinning drug for life and my repeat prescription has become unavailable due to telephone access almost inaccessible and nearly impossible. I do not drive and live a distance from the surgery and am disabled what am I surposed to do???

    Dear Janet, thank you for your feedback and I apologise for any inconvenience caused regarding your repeat Prescriptions, I have contacted the Site Manager to have a look at your repeat prescription and see how we can make it easier for you and to contact you.     Phoned today and was caller number 6, after a wait of 30 minutes I finally got to caller number1 and for the next 25 minutes I remained number 1 until gave up!! I am not a patient at this practice, I was calling for my Mother who is 85. My practice is able to answer the phone promptly and triage calls and always offers an appointment on the same day. So what is wrong with Yew Tree Medical centre?? I hate that I have to have any dealings with it and have a list of complaints to numerous to go into.

We are faced with unprecedented demand and we have had to look at innovative ways to meet the increasing demand. We are offering an increased amount of on the day appointments and we are not booking in advance. I understand that this can be inconvenient and we are looking at ways to ensure we can book some appointments as and when needed. The NHS APP is also an excellent tool to get access to certain tests and results etc. I would also like to reassure you that we communicate all changes with our staff.     To get an appointment whether same day or future I have to ring at 8am, I start work at 8am which makes this extremely difficultly. Every time I ring exactly as the surgery opens, I'm told I'm 30 plus in the queue, I've had to wait over 49 minutes to be told no appointments ring tomorrow. The only way I could get an appointment was to go into reception. This actually causes me a great deal of anxiety knowing I may not get an appointment to the point I may have to go private (i can't really afford to)....or maybe that's the idea to push us onto the private sector.

    27/07/2023 I made an on line request for a none-repeat prescription for medication I have received in the past to relive the inflammation and pain of gout (this request was made via the website to try not to take up an appointment that somebody else could use) the automated reply said it would be available for collection from the pharmacy 31/07/2023. In considerable pain I hobbled to the pharmacy only to be told there was no prescription for me. I phoned the doctors reception and was then told that my request had been rejected, I asked why no one had contacted me to let me know and was told it is not a service they offer which I find totally unbelievable and unacceptable where is the patient care I then asked to speak to the practice manager only to be told that I have to e-mail a request in and she will contact me at a later date. I now have a telephone appointment on Wednesday 02/08/2023 so for over four days I have been in extreme pain thinking I was was going to receive medication a simple phone call from the surgery telling me I needed to make an appointment would have saved me hours of agony.

    If only a reception staff who answer a call of help in Yew Tree Medical centre today 14/07/2023 can be more helpful and compassionate and act with kindness everytime they answer their phone calls it would be less stressful for a patient who seek assistance for medical help who waited 59 mins total just to speak with the receptionist. Just making this review I hope receptionist will not forget that they are employed to help sick/unwell patient when they call a surgery. I have no issues with other surgery under GPS practice only in this Yew Tree Medical Centre. Please remind your reception staff that this line of work has no room for rudeness because you are serving a NHS community.
