This practice is great if you have the odd sniffle. Someone I know who also lives in the area does not have a problem when it comes to the health problems they've had (recurrent infection that's been a problem since childhood, the odd scary acute thing). However, as someone with a chronic illness, I find that the practice is not always the best place for me. A recent problem was diagnosed over the phone by a doctor, and it took three more visits over a month for them to accept it wasn't going away, that I'd had three different diagnoses in that time from different practice workers, and I needed to be referred. Despite my history suggesting this was a problem similar to one I dealt with a few years ago, it was a struggle to feel like the doctors listened. However, once they did it was easy to get a referral. The nurses are generally good, although some are very fixated on weight as the cause of all problems, and do try to put you at ease for your appointment. I think the main danger here if you are someone with a chronic illness is hearing a healthcare worker confidently give you a diagnosis and you accepting it straight away. There have been several instances where nurses and doctors have said 'it's a classic case of this' but in fact it turned out to be a classic case of another disease or a weird case of something else. There is also some confusion about what the practice can offer in terms of specific tests and procedures between reception and staff. Still, the people working at the practice do work extremely hard. I have never felt that any of them are lazy or can't be bothered. If you have an emergency, you will be seen. I think the main issue here is that it's a practice in an older community and so the workers are very well-versed in common older complaints but less well-versed in others.

I have been a patient of this practice for many years and can’t praise them enough. There are a few doctors that really stand out but we are not allowed to name them on here? One thing though the recorded messages says they will not accept any type of violence rudeness etc and I totally agree 100% but what if the receptionist is rude or sharp with us patients?? What happens then, after all we are at our worse if we call for doctors appt and I totally get they have to ask questions re why we need appointment but have to say 99% of them are fine it jist the 1% that lets it down Still best doctor in area though

I am sorry to hear that you have found on occasions that a receptionist has been rude or sharp with you. It would be really helpful if you could contact the manager with details of the call so that she is able to address any issues with customer service with the individual.
