  1. Review titled Unable to get an appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 19 April 2024

I recently had a blood test and received a text saying I need to talk to the doctor. I have been trying unsuccessfully for over a week to get an appointment. I have filled an online form to request an appointment, and received no response. It is not possible to call to get an appointment, unless it is an emergency, which it may be. And I went in to talk to someone and got nowhere. So many barriers are in my way to stop me getting an appointment.

  2. Review titled Very poor customer service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Daniels - Posted on 10 April 2024

I am writing this review with frustration as I could not get an appointment for four days of trying to call for my daughter who was sick and needed antibiotics. Eventually, after getting through, I was told there were no appointments to try again the next day and fill in a form online. I did this and still could not get an appointment. Accord again the following day as my daughter was getting sicker and was told to take her to A&E or call 111 . This is not acceptable no wonder the NHS gets overwhelmed. All she needed was to be seen by a GP to get antibiotics . Eventually after arguing and filling another form online, I was given an appointment. The doctor was brilliant very kind and helpful . I just worry they are telling their customers to call 111. This is how people can get very sick if they don’t have a telephone or the Internet and they’re the elderly .

  3. Review titled Never appointmenta

Rated 1 star out of 5

Never appointments online can't do the form as always to many requests prior, never get through on the phone, just been on hold number 16 for 3/4 of an hour and moved to 15. Been trying to get in contact for over a month now. What is incredible is they texted me about this great online service today. At least I can go to the surgery to see a receptionist who won't assist either.

  4. Review titled Unfit for purpose

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Harriet - Posted on 11 January 2024

This GP’s practise is a joke. It shouldn’t have a license to practise anymore. I called to get my father a same day appointment as he is unwell and has medical issues. I was told he had to have a call first, they didn’t call for more than 36 hours then the person he spoke to had no medical qualifications whatsoever. He was then given an appointment more than 2 weeks in the future for what should have be considered same day. He spoke to a GP on livi the week before who said in no uncertain. Terms get an in person appointment by Monday if you still have symptoms, which he told Glenlyn about. He had a hypertensive crisis today and had to go to hospital. Honestly. Shut this place down. It’s not fit for purpose. Why are non medical people doing a triage, the person he spoke to declared they had no medical knowledge or qualifications as he was speaking to them.

  5. Review titled NHS GP Surgery apparently in trouble

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 11 December 2023

Today I waited in all day for a phone call from a GP which never came, & when I phoned to try to find out why (a call-back request having not been responded to either), there was (another) v. long queue on the phone, which I gave up on after almost 1/2 an hour. A few months ago I wrote a private letter to the clinical head of this practice pointing out service failings I had personally experienced, which wasn't even responded to - which was a new (& quite worrying) professional low. That letter really should have been replied to. Over the last 10 years this practice's once admirable reputation in the community has been lost, as reflected by the incessant complaints on all the review sites about it over that period. People are not being unreasonable in their expectation, something is wrong with this administration & it has to be (regretfully) acknowledged that it started when the new management took over. At the time (back in 2013) the new management requested patience from the community to let them adjust to a new system of "team" medical practice delivery rather than patients being on a single doctor's books, but it's now had a decade & it's clearly a failure (if that's the cause of the problems?), & the clerical administration of patient enquiries is not at all consistent, sometimes being efficient, whilst other times the opposite, which is - & should be - quite unacceptable in a medical practice.

  6. Review titled Unable to see GP

Rated 1 star out of 5

I am carer for my 86 year old mother who has multiple medical issues and could not believe the news I have just seen about GPs being made redundant from this practice. It is always difficult to get an appointment to be seen face to face. My mum’s appointment in early December was cancelled due to staff sickness and postponed by over a week, yet 3 GPs are being made redundant. This is appalling when we are having to pay for private GP appointments in order to get care in a timely manner. There is no continuity of care, having a need GP is a paper exercise and you can never see the same person twice. As healthcare professionals we appreciate the extend roles of other practitioners, but for someone with multiple morbidities the breadth of medical experience and training is essential. For example a musculoskeletal problem in my mum could be linked to so many of her underlying conditions ands needs someone who understands all of these to address the problem.

  7. Review titled Uncontactable

Rated 1 star out of 5

The new website looks great. Go to the 'Request an appointment' page and there are two options. i) Nhs website, go to it, log on, no appointments bookable online. ii) Fill in a form. Go to form. Form not available as 'clinical capacity reached'. So new website, no change. Just seems to provide more ways of not getting an appointment - or even asking for one!

  8. Review titled Fabulous GP Practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 01 August 2023

I cannot recommend Glenlyn highly enough! Every time we have attended it has been both but smooth with every person we saw being so helpful and kind. My son is needle phobic and the kindness of the lady that did his bloods was unbelievable. He said she was the nicest person he’d ever met in his life! This practice is run like a well oiled machine, and whoever is in charge should be very proud of all of their staff and their efficiency and kindness. Absolutely what you need when you attend the doctors. Would recommend to anyone.

  9. Review titled Needs improvement

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Andrew Thompson - Posted on 11 July 2023

Over the last couple of years when I have met with a doctor or nurse, they have been brilliant. However, the management of this practice requires lots of improvement. I have never used a service / website that a) turns it's messaging off when they reach "capacity", or b) turns their website messaging facilities off outside of working hours. The practice has had the same issues since I've been in Molesey which is over 2.5 years now. I am also frequently told whenever I manage to get someone on the phone that someone will come back to me. No one ever does. I don't understand why they haven't increased capacity nor improved their customer service.

  10. Review titled Can't contact and not been able to see a doctor for years

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Laura Tredwell - Posted on 28 June 2023

It is just not possible to contact the practice at all and I have not been able to see a doctor for years. Livi is suggested as an alternative but Livi are unable to authorise a repeat prescription and often cancel appointments. The website claims 'clinical capacity has been met' so there is no way of contacting as the phone remains unanswered. This is just not acceptable in 2023 and no other organisation would get away with such poor customer service. There just is no service.
