    Rang for an appointment short wait in a queue but was told what number in the queue. Spoke to very helpful and friendly receptionist got an appointment same day after work saw lovely ANP face to face got antibiotics and good explanation very thorough all sorted quickly and smoothly. Really great medical practice thank you.

    I recently rang in a state of upset. Explained to your receptionist that my anxiety was really bad. She was excellent, listened to me, even me crying. She arranged an appointment the next day. I unfortunately can't remember her name, But need to say she was sympathetic and caring. Thank you.

    I was placed on antidepressants and found them to be working with me and was placed on the next to top dose and i missed a check up appointment and then found out the hard way that rather then weaning me down and off them they cut my antidepressants off instantly which led to me suffering for weeks with the sweats, light-headedness, raised anxiety, wobbly on my feet, stomach issues and vomiting. I've read on the NHS website that under no circumstances are you supposed to just stop taking them so im just curious how a licensed GP can do that themselves with no repercussions knowing id have such withdrawal symptoms. I just personally think it's rather unprofessional and warn anyone at this GP who suffers from depression to seek proper help from another GP so you arent put at risk.

    Good morning, Under no circumstances would we immediately stop a patient’s antidepressant medication. Whilst I appreciate the time you have taken to raise concerns, doing so anonymously does not allow me the opportunity to investigate and respond appropriately.     Called, at the surgery's request, as I had recently registered as a patient in order to to discuss with one of the surgery's GP's the continuation of support I was receiving from the NHS which had been provided for the past 25 years. The GP said he would deal with my request and I would be advised of the outcome which involved a postal request, up the line. Three weeks has passed and no news has reached me. I know the NHS is in poor shape but this delay in dealing with an internal exchange of correspondence, to get what I need, hardly generates much in the way of confidence, in the system.

    I called 8am in the morning for same day appointment. There was no appointment available till 6 days later. Not even a telephone appointment! I was only 2nd in the queue. I have to go to walk in GP as they suggested. In A&E I have been told only your GP can refer you to the hospital specialist they can’t. Few years ago Garstang medical practice even made a Medical Error on my Thyroid medicine. If I can treat myself with over the counter medicine I won’t bother to call them.

    Dear Carrie, Thank you for your feedback. Although we do have a number of routine 'same day' appointments available, these can be extremely limited depending on patient demand and clinician availability. Patients who clinically need to be seen on the same day, will always be offered an appointment. If they do not need to be seen the same day they will be offered the next available appropriate appointment, if available, or directed to a walk-in centre. We do ask patients to treat with self-care or over the counter medicines for minor illness symptoms before contacting us, in order to alleviate pressure on our services for those needing to be seen. If you are concerned that you were not offered a clinically appropriate appointment for your ailment or you believe there has been an error with your medical treatment then please do put this in writing to us so we can investigate accordingly. We strive to provide a high level of service to our patients with the resources we have available, and appreciate the opportunity to address and discuss any issues if you feel we have fallen short of this standard.     Everyone at this practice goes above and beyond, the receptionists have to deal with some very poorly people, but they always do it with a smile on their face. I have visited on numerous occasions since moving here in 2019 and the service I have received has been second to none from the doctors! The pharmacy staff are always helpful too. Thank you so much for always making my visits as pleasurable as they possibly can be when me or my family are in pain, you are all amazing (even when it comes to infected horse fly bites!)

    Don't often visit the GP, however I've tried to book an appointment at reception and was told no chance there no appointments at all in the near future. None at all! I expected to wait a week or at the outside two, but to be told there are none at all I find quite worrying. I wouldn't ask to see a GP unless I thought it necessary.

    Good morning, Thank you for your feedback. We usually offer routine appointments 3-4 weeks in advance however at the moment, there are none available to book. This is because over the Summer we adapt our appointment system in order to most effectively deal with limited GP availability over the holiday period. From the 25th July to the 2nd September we will be running same day only appointments, so you will be able to ring Monday-Friday from 8am to access one of these. They will be booked on a first come, first served basis but as they are available each day, there should be sufficient to meet demand. Routine, pre-bookable appointments will be available again from September. If you need to be seen before the 25th July we do now have a number of same day appointments available each day, however there are limited availability of these due to the number of pre booked appointments already in our system. Our clinicians can only see so many patients in a day in order for them to provide a safe service, but please be assured that patients with an urgent problem that clinically need to be seen on the day they telephone the practice are always offered an appointment with our duty doctor. If you are unable to access an appointment at the surgery on your day of choice please remember you can always access the local walk-in centres which are located at Whitegate Drive in Blackpool and the Urgent Care Centre at Royal Preston Hospital. These services are available 8.00 am – 8.00 pm seven days per week. You are also able to book appointments via the Extended Access service in Blackpool, Fleetwood, Freckleton, and Garstang. These are available to book via our reception team or, when the surgery is closed, you can call 01253 952950. I am sorry if you feel the above information was not appropriately communicated to you at your recent visit to the surgery and I will discuss your feedback with our reception team.     Literally beyond possible to get an appointment at this practise - I rang this am at 8:02 am, was 11 th in the queue and when I got through all the appointments were “gone”

    Hi, Thank you for your feedback and I am sorry to hear that you were unable to book the appointment that you wanted. The upcoming bank holidays place additional pressure to the service we are able to provide and we currently have limited routine appointments available to book. To assist with this, all of our GP appointments next week (May 30th -1st June) are same day appointments, this means an increased volume of appointments will be available to book at 8am. Please be assured that patients with an urgent problem that clinically need to be seen on the day they telephone the practice are always offered an appointment with our duty doctor.
