Dear patient, I am really sorry to hear this. Please can you contact the surgery via email with your name and the information regarding this complaint, we record our calls so we can review the call and discuss this with the specific receptionist. Rudeness is not acceptable and also if a GP has missed calling a patient, we need to address this too. Please email us on SWLICB.adminfrancisgrovesurgery@nhs.net so we can look into this further and look to ensure this doesn't happen to other patients. This is based on a week of kind and helpful practice from clinicians from the surgery. Day after bank holiday Gp picked up emergency review with me. Co constructed plan to seek inpatient admission executed in record time in a kind efficient and highly professional manner. This must have been a lot to deal with after a bank holiday but the interactions between us and the timeliness of the actions gave absolutely no hint that I was using up their time . - excellent practice indeed

The doctor was professional and showed lots of kindness and compassion. She listened to how I was feeling and gave me options for my care. I would highly recommend the practice.

I left an enquiry in the morning and was given a face to face appointment with the GP in the afternoon. Everybody.I encountered was pleasant, polite, but above all, king and compassionate. There was also no indication that, while I was speaking with the doctor, that the clock was ticking. I had as much time as I needed, and throughout, the doctor listened to understand and did not listen to respond. Thank You

i have a problem with the bladder due to a spinal cord injury. Although there were no appointments available, the Doctor saw me as an emergency to discuss the problem.

I required my medication for a longer time due to working overseas and the practice were outstanding. The level of care was second to none. They wrote a letter I requested, informed me about a blood test that was required, changed the pharmacy and discussed in detail the amount required of each medication. It really was a pleasure to interact with the practice as everybody was very polite, professional and did what they said they would do. Furthermore, they were given very little time to react as I was given two weeks notice of working away for up to six months. A great example of how the NHS can work. Just hope they were not left with the burden of a lot of bureaucracy afterwards. That would not be fair on them. Let the practice do what they do so well and not taking time from them by filling out a form for the civil service statistics. Their days are busy enough without the burden of additional form filling.

France’s grove have been very responsive and helped quickly with any issues. I would recommend using their online feature to book appointments or get results as it’s much easier than waiting in line to call i usually got a response within 2 hours. Thanks for everything Francis Grove!

Two of my three recent contacts over same issue have been exemplary, the first contact delivered by phone I think was not so good. My F2F contact w doctors excellent, kind considerate empathic focussed. Contact with receptionists on the three occasions very helpful and efficient and effective

I had concerns and contacted the practice, where my call was prioritised after missing the allocated appointments. I was then able to see a doctor the next day who carried out an examination and escalated to a consultant for other tests to be undertaken. Great that a thorough review is now underway.

The appointment service seems to be too busy. At 8am, the appointment telephone waiting list is over 25. It took over 20 minutes wait on the phone line. There is a fear that I might be excluded after the last appointment slot was reached before my call was answered. Also, there has been many locum doctors who are not ideal for a family gp service. Maybe more salaried doctors is the answer to both above concerns. On a minor point, there is a large turnover of receptionists. Some of them appeared to be untrained and presented poorly at their job.

Dear patient, Thank you for your detailed feedback. I completely understand the frustration of waiting on the phone to try to get an appointment, we do try to ensure as many staff as possible are answering calls at 8am. During periods of annual leave we do need to supplement with Locum Dr's but we do on almost all occasions use locum GPs who regularly work at the practice so they know the team, the patients, the processes ands the local area. We have recently advertised for more salaried GPs and are undergoing recruitment. Receptionist turnover is high, it is one of the most challenging jobs in the practice and is very intense. Many staff who start on reception move into other areas of administration or are promoted within the organisation within a year or two.
