  1. Review titled Bad customer care

Rated 4 stars out of 5

I called after I missed a phone call from the surgery. It was about seeing my doctor either face to face or a telephone call. I requested a face to face as far as I see my usual doctor; as he has been following me for some time. This was confirmed by the admin staff. This morning while checking in, I found out that I was seeing a different Dr, whom I have requested not to see in the past as he doesn’t give you time to talk and explain your issue. I was on all and had to arrange cover to attend this appointment. I had to cancel and re-arrange to see my usual doctor. The Admin staff said that she was unable to find out who has made this mistake. This was a waste of journey and time for both sides.

  2. Review titled Incredible communication and booking system

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I am very proud to be a member of the Fountain Medical Practice. Every time my family or I need to contact the doctors, it far out performs any other practice from family and friends. Instead of staying on the phone for ages at 8:30am, the online form is easy to fill in and the surgery will always get back to you in plenty of time. I feel very assured that if ever I need to contact a doctor or medical professional, I can get through to the team with ease and understanding. Thank you!

  3. Review titled Terrible / negligent

Rated 1 star out of 5

The online booking form is usually always closed and it’s impossible to get through by phone. GPs are still not seeing patients face to face and when booking online the patient symptoms have to be stipulated which sometimes take several messages backwards and forwards to the receptionists who lack empathy. There is zero patient confidentially in this lengthy process. Upon entering the surgery it’s empty, are the GPs prioritising private patients? Appointments are never offered face to face even when requested and a time is never stipulated for a phone appointment - patients are expected to just to be on standby all day which is ridiculous. I think there is huge negligence concerns at this practice and the women’s health services such as menopause and smear testing needs to be improved significantly. It really is about time this surgery was properly investigated.

  4. Review titled Very Over Stressed

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Hopefully just my experience but would be useful to note other reviews. Over the last couple of months difficult to make appointments with any doctor. The online form is usually not available, neither is the telephone service. The advise seem to be contact 111 or emergency service. Neither is appropriate in my case. I know there are some very ill people at the moment. I just want advise about my medication. Rang the hospital but didn't get anywhere. Will try local pharmacist now. Hope the usual splendid service will return to normal.

  5. Review titled Appointments still aren’t face to face

Rated 2 stars out of 5

The GPs are still reluctant to give face to face appointments, my child has a skin condition that keeps getting misdiagnosed however each time I make an appointment online requesting a face to face appointment I’m given a phone appointment with no allocation of an actual time. How can a skin complaint that’s getting worse be diagnosed over the phone and without seeing it? It’s also really horrible having to write down symptoms on line in order to make an appointment knowing reception staff are reading all about my medical concerns or symptoms.

Dear Patient, Thank you for your feedback. The GPs are seeing patients face to face on a daily basis. The GP will call the patient initially. If following this consultation you need to be seen face to face, the GP will book an appointment for you to come to the Practice. The face to face appointment is routinely the same day as the phone call. We do ask for history and details of your problem when completing the online form. This is to help the GP triage your request. Thank you. Kind regards, Fountain Practice

  6. Review titled Reception and prescription help

Rated 4 stars out of 5

I would like to thank the lady on reception who helped me get my daughters prescription signed off. My daughter has type 1 diabetes and sometimes it’s stressful trying to get all the medication. People don’t realise how hard it is working in a GP surgery and how busy it is. I explained my situation and the lady on reception listened and made me feel calm. She sorted my medication issue and called me to let me know it had gone to the chemist. Thank you all for your hard work. People are always quick to comment on the negative and never the good!!!
