    I went to the patient participation group meeting on fifth May and was pleasantly surprised by how open the practice is to patient feedback. Helped break down an Us v Them Atmosphere that other communication channels had created. It was informative to understand the limitations that the practice have to comply with and which limit their ability to communicate as freely as they want with patients. Very worthwhile use of my time.

    : I'm in chronic pain, 2 slipped discs, with nerve damage. Three times I phoned to request more Hydrocodeine, Pregabalin, as it's 7 days supply (Hydrocodeine) and the doctor sent it to the pharmacy same day. I asked yesterday, and the duty manager said my prescription will available that day, I went to the pharmacy and it wasn't there. I phoned again the receptionist said I had to come in to ask for my prescription. for no reason other then it's policy. They didn't want Id passport driving license, anything. other then just to come in. that policy has to change. (please tell me the reason for that if its not ID) I phoned again and explained that unless they send the prescription today I won't have my painkillers until the following tuesday as it's friday today. So I will be in extra pain for the next three days. The receptionist kept repeating the policy (that she can't do anything to help) I asked for the manager, she said they were in a meeting but a mananger would call me back. No one phoned. I phoned back she said the managers had gone home. Then I asked could she ask a doctor to phone me she said she couldn't do that and said I have to use econsult. esconsult has reached capacity. This whole thing has wasted everyones time and has left me without my medication. And now what ?? I have to phone NHS 111 is that it? It makes no sense. This has to stop!

    Dear Patient, Thank you for your feedback - We spoke to you a few times regarding you medication - FHRGP cannot take any medication requests over the phone as we need it in writing from the patient for data purposes, this can be done via accurx online, we also accept requests submitted by pharmacies. you will need to discuss directly with your pharmacy to confirm whether this is a service they offer. The turnaround period to request any medication is 2 working days, but we recommend requesting 4-7 days before your medication runs out.     Many thanks for identifying the recurrence of PMR yesterday and getting a prescription to the Pharmacy on the same day. I don't like to think what the outcome might have been for me last night without the Predisalone

    I called the surgery at 8am, I was caller number 9. When I finally spoke to someone I was told had to go to the old Dulwich hospital center. The staff were not helpful at all. Every time I call the surgery I have to build myself up for disappointment. I wouldn't recommend the surgery to any one they tell you that you can't see a doctor because the duty doctor is booked. So they send you to another clinic. Staff are not very helpful. Why have a doctors surgery if you can't see a doctor.

    Yesterday I filled in a 'bad experience' review about this practice admin. Today, when I contacted them, it was how it should be (and was.) The phone was answered after a short wait. The receptionist was welcoming and courteous, and organised both my requests promptly. I was then contacted by phone by a doctor, and I was very satisfied by the outcome. Well done fhrgp. ( My husband and I patients since 1984)

    Within the last two months I have had three "items" that I contacted the Surgery with. The referrals were made very quickly and two of them were resolved speedily and well (thanks Surgery, and thanks Nhs!). The third had an equally quick response and is only 'not resolved yet' because it is awaiting the results of blood and other tests. My fault for being dilatory with getting the tests done. Whenever such test results are received and require action the surgery/ GPs concerned are quick to contact me. Sorry to hear about other bad experiences but personally I am very satisfied with the service received over not just this last two months but over a period of years. I once remarked to an estate agent (no my house is not up for sale) that it was worth mentioning as an additional feature with houses being sold - rather like being in a good catchment area for certain schools. - that the house is in a good catchment area for the surgery. Thanks Frgps - don't let it go to your head, but you've done me proud!

    I spoke with a doctor today! Rude and not understanding and I told her I’d be researching my health issue and she rudely told me I know everything and don’t need her help! And awful practise trying to get an appointment and if you have a health issue it’s worrying and lack of understanding and compassion and all she kept saying was ‘ok’ and trying to get an appointment is non existent and I was told twice I’d have to wait 6 months and 3 months for an appointment and not acceptable! This surgery used to be a very understanding and caring doctors! The best one is some of the receptionists are diagnosing me over the phone and they think they are medically trained which they are not! They are merely receptionists and I tell them this before the in-depth interrogation and they are diagnosing me as I’m trying to explain my health issue! And finally I’m on the list to speak to a medically trained doctor or nurse practitioner! Absolutely awful doctors

    Usually I have a negative experience with this doctors and there are a few receptionists that will go above and beyond to help you and find out what I’ve asked and sometimes with my medication! And yday I had this issue and one receptionist was so helpful and happy and professional

    I would not recommend this practice. It is almost impossible to see a dr, I know that can be common, but it’s very bad here. I recently had an appointment cancelled at The Tessa Jowell Centre as it was apparently inappropriate and shouldn’t have been booked by the dr, so I was referred to the nurse, effectively over riding the dr. I’ve just left the surgery.

    Dear Patient, Thank you for your feedback, we are sorry to hear you feel like you cannot book an appointment, please try and use the onlince accurx system from our website (https://florey.accurx.com/p/G85001) which is available from 8:00am during the week (Monday to Friday). All queries are triaged by a Duty Doctor. Patients are then contacted by text informing them of the next steps. Appointments are booked due to clinical need with the right clinician at the right time. When the number of online requests reaches capacity, the system closes automatically.     I recently signed up despite the dreadful reviews because it’s so close to my home and I’m afraid to say the reviews are correct. Avoid this GP at all costs unless you think you’ll never need one. If you want an appointment be prepared to be on hold for at least 30 mins every time. Ironic given how quickly they registered me. After coughing up blood last week from a chest infection (I am fortunate to rarely get ill and it was quite scary) I called 111 knowing the surgery wouldn’t answer. Eventually I was called by them the next morning having been directed to call me by the 111 urgent care team. They told me no appointments were available but they would find space at Tessa Jowell centre. I turned up for my appt and was told it was in fact at Forest Hill road practice. If they had confirmed the appointment on text I would have absolutely spotted the change but it was very unclear on the phone, if they did actually tell me the location change. I’m not sure they did. I rushed back over but after waiting 30 mins in the reception was told the GP did not have time to see me and told me to go to the pharmacy and that she would only see me if it was absolutely necessary…! In the end I decided to leave it and was prepared to go to A&E if symptoms got worse. I haven’t gotten around to leaving the surgery but I will be very soon.
