Phoned asking for help to manage withdrawal symptoms. Don't need a face to face, just a telephone call would have done, no can't do anything. Can book in for a weeks time when I've probably gotten over them but no help for now.

Phoned appointments today and was answered straight away.asked for a repeat B12 injection and was told there was an appointment in 15 minutes. Had additional BP tests and left with a cheery wave . Brilliant experience!

  3. Review titled Terrible practice getting worse and worse

Rated 1 star out of 5

Flansham Park Surgery has ceased using the e-consult service that at least allowed them to triage cases correctly. If you call the surgery you are left in an interminable queue, which often disconnects you, and as this morning, we were waiting for 53 minutes for the phone to be answered. To be then told "there is no-one here to see you" and "you should have called earlier" - the surgery opened at 8.00am and we called at 8.00am. If there are no doctors, then an alternative appointment should be offered. Flansham's website states you can book an appointment on the NHS app - I have never been able to do so, the only way to book a repeat appointment is if the doctor books it themselves, reception refuse to book appointments in advance, leaving you to attempt to book an appointment at the right time to suit them, taking hours to do so. Today, the reception staff refused an appointment for a patient with multiple chronic conditions. Their response was "go to hospital if it's serious". The CQC should inspect the surgery for it's failings to provide basic care to it's patients, many of whom have no other available surgeries and are stuck using them as other surgeries won't accept "out of area registrations" when you call them.

  5. Review titled The ‘appointment system’ doesn’t work

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Teresa Freeman - Posted on 06 March 2023

Called this morning 8am - 31 in the queue. My third time of ringing in 5 days. I was connected to receptionist at 8.32 - No appointments remaining! I was at a meeting around 20 years ago when this ‘system’ was trialed: Ring your surgery for same day appointments. The doctor leading the ‘seminar’ suggested that this system would only work if there were sufficient appointments to satisfy the demand. There weren’t then and there are still not today!! I was told this morning the usual, come and wait for the doors to open and you will get an appointment. How is this acceptable? My mind always goes to the elderly person, possibly not that mobile, who is required to queue outside the surgery before 8 am to be given an appointment where they need to revisit the surgery later that day. Bearing in mind that as they need a doctors appointment, probably are unwell! We have a health service to which we have financially contributed all our working lives and therefore have a right to access it. I have put off making an appointment for an ongoing problem for months, when I attempt to see the doctor I am reminded as to why I hesitate.

Dear Patient, We discussed the points raised in your review at a practice meeting this morning. Improving access is on our agenda continuously and we seek different ways to meet demand with the resources available. As a direct result we have agreed to increase our e-consult capacity and can inform you we are rolling out a changed appointment system from next week in order to make things easier . Flansham is not alone in struggling within an underfunded NHS but we are trying. It would be extremely helpful if you’d be happy to contact our management team or our Patient Participation Group so we can work together to improve matters. Yours faithfully, Dr W J Rogers , partner.

  6. Review titled New system doesn't work

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 22 March 2023

My partner wanted to contact a GP but calling at 0800 we were number 20 something in the queue. E-Consult is not available - the on screen message says it will be available from 12.01 am tomorrow but that has been there for days. Yet the phone message when callijg still refers you to e-consult. Please get things in order. This .new' system isn't working.

Dear Patient Thankyou for letting us know of your frustrations with obtaining an appointment . The econsult message should change depending on capacity so I will ensure this is investigated by our IT staff. We do acknowledge there is an issue of demand outstripping capacity and have recently loaded a statement to the front page of our NHS website which explains the current situation in detail. I hope that will give you some insight into our challenges and those faced by GP practices around the country ; please contact us directly if you’d like further information . 7. Review titled Exceeding expectations

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Andy M - Posted on 29 January 2023

Under immense pressure, the reception staff, GP's, Nurses, paramedic & other support staff do an excellent job! Reception colleagues are always freindy, compassionate & go out of their way to help you. I've never had a bad experience at fphc, the GP's are fantastic despite the pressure that they're under & ive always managed to see a health care professional when needed. The eConsult system works well too with a reply usually same day. I highly recommend fphc & would like to thank all the staff there for making the huge effort to help us during these difficult post Covid, staffing & workload pressures. Thank you!

  8. Review titled Thank you

Flansham Park Surgery, while under extreme pressure following the tribulations of Covid, and the recent surges in the population in our catchment area, continues to perform impeccably and to provide outstanding care to our local community. From the receptionists to the clinical staff, and the administation behind the scenes, the practice is professional, caring and exemplary in its understanding of the needs of patients. Thank you to you all for your service.

  9. Review titled Nearly impossible to get a same day appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

    by Max G - Posted on 28 September 2022

On Tuesday I called at 8am to be number 21 in the queue, the only apt available was at 3.30pm that day. The GP rushed through the apt, and prescribed medication that on reading the common side effects was not suitable for me. This morning I called at 8am, number one in the queue, to be told there were no apts today! The receptionist explained there were only 4 apts and those had been given to the patients who had physically gone to the surgery. This is not the first time I have experienced difficulty in getting an apt but is the most recent example. The reasons (excuses) given are - the lack of doctors and too many patients.

Dear Max G Thankyou for sharing your frustrations concerning appointment availability . Your experience was clearly unsatisfactory and could have been handled better. Like most NHS services , General Practice struggles to meet demand and there are times when there simply are not enough clinicians available . We try to predict these sessions and engage locums but they simply cannot be found at short notice to cover sick leave as in this week’s example. There are days when a GP will have over fifty direct patient contacts and we are working at full stretch. If you would like to discuss this issue further, please contact our management team at the surgery . Yours sincerely, Dr W J Rogers , Partner

  10. Review titled Wow. Who answers the phone

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Ron Allen - Posted on 31 August 2022

Waited some 45 minutes on the phone for a response. Got to number one in the call queue and waited 25 minutes. Does this mean no one answers? Gave up in the end. Brain pain listening to the same music.

Dear Ron Sorry to hear of your bad experience using the phone. Our reception team works flat out to answer calls as quickly as possible but demand can be extremely high at times. Your feedback is concerning so it would be really helpful if you could contact our management team with details of the date and timing of your call so we can check there wasn’t a fault at that time and investigate the issue. We will wait to hear from you but in the meantime please accept our apologies. Dr W J Rogers , GP
