  1. Review titled Great Practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I’ve been a patient here for 20+ years. In the past month I have seen both a Dr and also the experienced Practice Nurse who I’ve been seeing for many years who is fantastic. As always I find all of the the staff to be friendly, helpful and professional. Despite the turbulent Covid times in recent years, Elizabeth Avenue has managed to maintain the feel of a caring family surgery and I’m grateful to be registered here. I was able to book both of these appointments in a timely fashion, the first with the GP as an emergency and then the review with the Nurse for today.

  2. Review titled Worse staff and care

Rated 1 star out of 5

They only give you advice on phone and never book an appointment. They don’t help you and they ask you to complete the online form. After the website redirects me to call them, they said: “at least you gave it a go”. You can sense the mocking in their voice. The doctor did not help either and told me to just take paracetamol while my condition worsened and I had chest pain.

Thank you for your comments. I'm glad to hear your medical problem was assessed by a GP and found not to be urgent. Many conditions like yours can be easily dealt with by a pharmacist and I would advise you to see one as a first stop if this should happen again.

  4. Review titled No response

Rated 2 stars out of 5

I filled out an econsult late on Friday as I had an extremely high blood pressure reading.(210/112). I was told I would get a response by 6.30pm on Monday. That left me with no option other than accident and emergency.

  5. Review titled Extremely Rude and Unhelpful Reception Staff

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 05 December 2022

Very bad experience with the Reception staff at this practice. Basic lack of communication skills or understanding of simple and polite questions. Receptionist became angry and shouting for no apparent reason. Have always had a good experience with the Doctors at this practice but would avoid simply for the reason of not wanting to be spoken to or having to deal with such rudeness again. From reading reviews on Google I'm not the only one who's experienced this and would hope the NHS (of which I've always had such a fantastic experience with) is able to solve this before more people are denied healthcare

I am sorry to hear of your experience at our practice. If you had contacted me I could have investigated the incident you mention. As a practice we very rarely receive such criticism. We never respond to Google reviews as only the NHS Choices website is accepted by us and moderated by the NHS ensuring legitimate posts are made on it.

  6. Review titled Same-day service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I wish to commend the prompt attention paid to my communication earlier today via the eConsult Service in a case concerning a former patient of the Whittington Hospital Dermatology Department. My sincere gratitude and warmest regards to the GP who handled the matter with such sensitivity.

Thank you so much for your comment regarding our econsult service. The vast majority of our patients are very pleased with the system since we introduced it. I often receive praise from patients about how our clinicians deal with them, but I would like to particularly thank you for taking the time to thank our practice on this website.

  7. Review titled Once Good Practice

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Tony - Posted on 26 September 2022

The Practice has become dysfunctional. My optician sent the practice a letter on 22 Feb 22 asking for an appointment to be made for cataract surgery. Early in August I asked at the surgery for news, and was fobbed off. At the end of Sept I sent a letter, with a copy of my optician's letter, and, hey presto, I was instructed how to make an appointment at Moorfields. This is one example of the way the practice now functions

Thank you for your comment. I am sorry to hear your optician appointment was not organised. If you contact me I will investigate what happened to the original letter from your optician as it is clear we did not have a copy of it if you had to send a copy to us in September. I do hope your cataract surgery has been successful.

  8. Review titled Fantastic practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

After reading some other reviews I’m quite shocked I have never had a problem with any staff members and have always had brilliant interactions with all of the drs or nurses I have seen or spoken too via phone I do find the e consult a bit long winded but in this day and age it’s necessary I always get a timely response and I would just like to point out if you are physically and mentally capable of filling out your own e consult leave the receptionists alone to do their actual jobs I have had to call due to issues with e consult question wise and have always received help so thanks to all who work there

  9. Review titled What is happened to this once great practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

What is happened to this once great practice I have been a patient here for over 35 years and have always praised and recommended this GP Surgery I feel I am no longer able to do so I have been made to feel it’s an inconvenience to be ill my mental health has suffered considerably over the last few weeks trying to make appointments for minor things having dressings changed blood tests I am 69 years of age have no family and very little support I find it very difficult asking for help I have always found the doctors and nurses when you do get to see them have been excellent however your reception services are not as they once were And I dread having to contact them for example I had a minor fall and waited to go to the hospital at the weekend to get it seen to previously I would’ve come to see the Nurse now battling to get appointment every time I need to get my dressing changed I know it’s been a difficult few years for the NHS as it has for everybody I had a cancer diagnosis last year and was treated at Barts I could not wish for a better treatment and all the staff treated me in a kind considerate way and I had to deal with making lots of different appointments and it’s never made me feel as I feel now a weeping mess

Thank you for comment. I am sorry to hear of your mental health issues and the problems you have encountered getting the service you want. Unfortunately we do not do blood tests but this can be done at Barts. It is a shame the discharging hospital did not organise dressing changes for you. Our reception team always try to offer the best service possible and I do hope you have recovered since you submitted this comment.

  10. Review titled General practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

An online enquiry produced an immediate response - a call from a doctor who answered my query, prescribed repeat medicines and was a great help.
