On having difficulties in locating repeat medications on the GP access link I emailed the practice for advice . The following morning the practice contacted me and the receptionist was so helpful and ensured I got my meds . Outstanding

  2. Review titled Poor telephone service

Rated 3 stars out of 5

Today I rang,I was position 12 in the que which I have no problem waiting.but I waited nearly an hour getting down to position 1 and then reception just cuts me off.call back I'm position 16.this is the 3rd time this has happened and it's not on.they all know we've been waiting for ages and if it was accidental at least have the decency to call back after being hung up on.i say if it was accidental but as it's the 3rd time it's happened to me it makes me feel it's not.i understand they're very busy but doing this to people is really not fair especially after they've sat waiting for nearly an hour.i don't mind waiting but then just cancelling my call again is really not fare.

Good Afternoon Mr Brett I am so sorry for the difficulties you have had today. Whilst the phone performance has been much better in recent months, today has been exceptional and call waits are longer than we would like today. I have asked our team to give you a call urgently so we can get you the help you need. To save you waiting on the line, if you press 2, wait for the message, and then press *, the phone system will call you back automatically. We take over the cost of the call, and it means you don't have to stay on the line. The system itself doesn't tell us who is calling 'live' and if there is a fault and the call disconnects we don't know who to call back. I do understand how frustrating it must be to have waited so patiently however. I can fully assure you it is not us purposely cutting you off. Our team will be in touch this afternoon to help. I am sorry for the stress we have caused you today. Many thanks Rachel Stark Practice Manager

  3. Review titled Above and Beyond

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I have nothing but praise for all the staff at this practice. The receptionists, who must be under huge pressure at the momemt, are always pleasant, patient and kind. If I have a particular problem, they will always do their best to sort it. I always feel that I really matter - and that they really care. The nurses are very pleasant, kind and efficient. My own gp is kind, caring and knowledgeable, as is my experience of some of the other gps. If I need to speak to a dr urgently by phone, this is always expedited quickly and efficiently. East Quay and its staff offer a truely exceptional service. Thank you

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Despite the nhs being under pressure, I was given a call back and booked an appointment. The call staff were really supportive and reassuring. Dr Power was so kind and caring. I highly recommend the practice.

  5. Review titled Serious professional NHS practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Marie - Posted on 08 August 2022

This practice gives respect and dignity to all. All staff, from receptionist to GP, including health care assistants perform their job as expected by patients, in spite of all pressures and shortage of resources that any other GP surgery experiences. At East Quay medical centre, they seem to manage by using common sense, learning from past challenges and rectifying quickly anything that has not worked so well. Appointment making system is fantastic even though we have longer waits, due to current national difficulties. Please, continue as you are doing to keep patients free of stress.

  6. Review titled wait times

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Chris - Posted on 11 July 2022

waiting times to see/ speak to a GP are quite long but otherwise I can't and won't fault this practice, nor do I blame them for the wait times. always been dealt with properly and professionally by all staff on my rare visits, dealings with them for my children have been quick and efficient. maybe an online messaging service for some enquiries would be of some use? I have a phone appt booked I now no longer need and dread the idea of waiting through the (sometimes massive) phone queue just to cancel it. I am unlikely to recommend this surgery, not for any negative reasons, but just because I believe they are busy enough with the patient load they have already and wouldn't want to be trying to pile more stress & pressure onto them,
