Review titled Lost prescription request
Rated 5 stars out of 5

My latest prescription request has been lost. I don't know what else to say. Not for the first time. I have had no prescription medication for a fortnight.

Review titled Can not book an appointment
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 02 June 2025
To book an appointment, their website lists the following options: download the NHS app, request an appointment online, use our online services, or telephone. But it's impossible to book through the NHS app—it just says to contact your GP. The "request an appointment online" option leads nowhere. The "use our online services" link just takes you back to the NHS app, which again says to contact your GP. The last option is to call them. When you do, they tell you to go to their website at 6PM. After trying for several days with no success, you finally try again at 6PM and a form appears. You fill it out, hoping they'll get back to you—and guess what? Nothing happens. How are you actually supposed to book an appointment with this GP?

Review titled Excellent Service
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by William Lester - Posted on 10 April 2025
If you believe the media it's almost impossible to get a GP appointment. I applied in person and the receptionist arranged a telephone consultation later that day which resulted in a face to face appointment the next day along with a blood test. Next day a letter arrived allowing me to book online a hospital consultant in just 4 days. The blood test revealed a possible problem and the GP arranged another appointment to check this out. A Physio was also arranged at the first consultation to deal with some muscle pain. I am impressed with the service.

Review titled Good service when you can get it
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Athithan Dharmaratnam - Posted on 22 February 2025
I have since managed to get an appointment. When I did get an appointment at Didcot Health Centre, the experience was good. I did look at other surgeries in the area and they all have a similiar issue with over capacity. This problem is a NHS issue not this particular GPs issue and the healthcare team is excellent so I will update my rating to be fairer.

Review titled Can't get an appointment

You call at 8:00am to get an appointment, get told to use e consult. You go to e consult before 6:00pm, there are no appointments. Repeat. I have had good experiences before with the surgery in the past but they are just over capacity in the last year so would not recommend signing up now

Review titled Bit uncoordinated
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 08 December 2024
1) Request for a prescription was lost twice. This has resulted in repeat trips to surgery (3 times) and pharmacy (4), delay in taking one weekly medicine and continuing non-receipt of prescription for another. 2) Was told I needed to contact surgery after a routine test they invited me for had apparently given cause for concern. Doctor I spoke to on phone couldn't understand why I had contacted them, tried referring me to hospital for tests, failed, so that's that. 3) Think I’m now suffering from amedicus, a syndrome caused by lack of coordination by medical personnel. “It is characterized by one or all of these clinical manifestations: confusion, anxiety, insomnia, hostility, depression, suspiciousness, hopelessness, indecisiveness. distrust, withdrawal and the feeling of abandonment … The common denominator in this condition is the patient's communication that he feels he is operating without a physician who is directly responsible for his care.” (Torem M S and Allen A A, 1987)

I am sorry to hear about the problem you have had, so thank you for reporting it. I would like to look into this to find out what went wrong in our systems and why. Would you please contact me via our website with your name and contact details? Even if your problem has been resolved, we need to learn from it so that we can reduce the chance of it happening again to anyone else. Thank you. Gill Suter, Assistant Practice Manager

Review titled Super speedy
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by John - Posted on 26 November 2024
I had reason to contact 111 a couple of weeks ago, was told that Didcot Health Centre would contact me within 24 hours. In fact I had a call within 30 minutes resulting in an appointment within 2 hours. Very impressed with the speedy response and the time that Dr T spent with me. This is how a GP surgery should work, well done to all.

E Consult is telling me to call my Gp. When I call my Gp I am told no appointments today call back tomorrow. I have been going in circles for 3 weeks without any success. How am I supposed to get a Referral to the JR to resolve my Knee issue?

Review titled Excellent care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Lorna Milton (L.M.) - Posted on 25 August 2024
Over the past weeks/months, I’ve had several health issues, and my doctor has worked hard to find solutions to my problems and has referred me to various professionals, within the NHS. It can’t be easy when a single patient has several information documents sent through from clinicians working in different departments. But my lovely GP always acts on data, advice and comments when appropriate. For example, over the next few weeks I have appointments with a dermatologist, gynaecologist, physiotherapist, an osteopath and Upper Gastrointestinal specialist. Am I a GPs nightmare patient? Maybe but I feel truly blessed by the care and support I’ve had and can’t praise the team enough. Due to lack of staff, there must be glitches occasionally, but the workforce at The Health Centre work hard to deal with us all, and they’re pleasant and easy to approach. Thank you all so much.
