I phoned the surgery as I had found a lump and was offered an appointment with a nurse practitioner that same day. She examined me and made an urgent referral to get this looked at. However, she could obviously tell that there was other things going on and as I got up to leave she asked me ‘are you okay?’ And when I said ‘yes’ she said ‘no really, are you okay?’ I then told her some of the additional, significant stress that I was experiencing at the time. She talked to me about different ways I could be supported and I agreed for a referral to be made to social prescribing. I am very thankful to this nurse who made the effort to find out I really was. She helped me a great deal and I am a lot better for her intervention.

My experience with the practice recently has been excellent. The Doctor was very professional and caring and resolved one of my problems with medications after conducting a battery of blood tests. She also arranged for me to see a physio for my knee pain and has followed this up with me. I also saw two of the practice nurses for blood tests and BP checks. They were both very professional and took great care of me and the advice and guidance I was given was first class. The only criticism I have is the number and length of recorded messages one has to listen to when phoning in. However I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the practice.
