  1. Review titled Poor time management

Rated 1 star out of 5

Aside from agreeing with the other reviewers that it’s difficult to get an appointment, if/when you do manage to get an appointment, expect to be kept waiting no matter the time of day. This practice is consistently overrunning, and are quite unapologetic about it. Today I was kept waiting 20 minutes for an appointment, that was already rescheduled to a later one, then I was kept waiting a further 15 minutes at reception to book a follow up appointment, meaning I was 30 minutes later to work than I had expected to be. You’re very lucky if you get a doctor who cares (today, I was, but I’m not sure if I’ll be able to see the same doctor again or if he was a locum) - previous experiences have left me feeling fobbed off and hopeless about a chronic condition. Deer Park really needs to do much better for its patients.

  2. Review titled Very disappointed; poor experience.

Rated 1 star out of 5

Following an 6+ week old injury; I have booked an appointment with a doctor. Having described the symptom, the doctor took notes with very little interaction. They observed the inflammation and bruising; without applying pressure to the area and despite describing a pain of 8/10; decided not to pursue with an investigation. I was prescribed strong pain killers and a physio appointment. The appointment lasted 10 minutes and the doctor did not make eye contact. After 2 weeks of taking the pain killers, I attended the prescribed physio appointment. Whilst the doctor did take a closer look and also observed the bruise ans inflammation; they applied pressure around the area but dismissed the source of the pain despite me pointing it out. Within 15 minutes, I was sent home and advised to call for a renewed prescription for pain killers if the pain continued and an email with exercises on an attached document; with no support or demonstrations on how to do the exercise correctly. Overall, I feel like I was not listened to, and dismissed. After 2 consultations, and no improvements to the injury; I can summarise the advise given as taking pain killers for an undefined period of time and nothing was done to understand the source of the pain. Very poor experience.

Went to reception 12.30pm monday to make an appointment with Dr on Friday when next got a day off.Told had to ring 8am Wednesday for Fri 48 hr appointment, yet on the homepage it states appointments can be made up to 4 weeks in advance? Queried this to be told had to ring 8am Wednesday!!! Very confusing and extremely annoying booking system, especially when I actually went in person, and was not advised can book upto 4 weeks in advance. No doubt when I try to ring I will be on hold for ages,to be told nothing available on that day Terrible appt service

  5. Review titled Very good practice but ...

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 18 January 2023

Review: I would have given 5 stars in this review but for my experience recently. I called the practice to ask for a prescription for numbing cream after my son who is autistic and 10 years old had been asked to book for a blood test. I had called the phlebotomy service number previously provided by deer park to book the appointment and had an appointment at the health centre's phlebotomy service. When speaking to the receptionist I happened to mention that the appointment had been booked at the health centre but she quite sharply and almost rudely said to me 'we do not do blood tests at our practice'. I tried to tell her that my understanding was that there was a phlebotomy service at the health centre similar to the midwifery service not provided by deer park. I didn't manage to get a word in but again was sharply told to call the phlebotomy service to rearrange the blood test appointment as no service like that existed at the health centre. I called the phlebotomy service back who confirmed what I thought . Please let your receptionist know about this service and perhaps next time if they are not sure about something or a patient has been told otherwise they can ask another colleague to confirm. I want to add that I've been to the surgery a few times in the last few months and both receptionists and GPs I encountered were wonderful.

I'm sorry to hear that you had a negative experience with the staff at Deer Park. We have regular meetings with the staff so we will pass your comments back and we are looking at ways of ensuring that we have updated information on services that are run by the Health Centre so the staff are aware of these.

  6. Review titled Impossible to get appointments, have to wait for a very long

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 17 January 2023

Have to wait for a very long on the phone to speak to the receptionist and then disappointingly told there is nothing available for weeks. This has happened multiple times. I had very bad experience when we asked for vaccinations for going abroad and filled in the forms months ago. No one from surgery contacted, and when I contacted they said its too late now. Mixed messages from GP and administrator at multiple occasions regarding my mum's registration.
