  1. Review titled Worse than ever

Rated 1 star out of 5

After being discharged from hospital, was sent a text to say there was a telephone consultation arranged for Sunday 3/3/2024,with regard to heart medications Rang to confirm as the appointment was for a Sunday, told it was correct. Stayed in all day, finally at 3o,clock my phone rang once and then the doctor hung up. No follow-up no nothing. This used to be an amazing doctors surgery, now the reception staff seem to be the doctors and attempt to give medical advice ,with serious ongoing health issues its not good enough

  2. Review titled Awful service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 06 March 2024

For the past 7 months, I've attempted to contact the clinic at 8 am using five different numbers, but I've never been able to get through. On Monday, after finally getting through, I found myself 13th in the queue, making it nearly impossible to secure an appointment. It took me five tries to connect with the practice. It seems appointments are only available when ambulance assistance is required. Today, I finally reached the clinic as I awaited my test results, only to be told by the receptionist that my results aren't promising and I need to wait for a doctor to call, but they're unavailable today. This news, coupled with the lack of communication from the doctors, is incredibly stressful. I'll wait for my results from the doctors and then seek to switch from this clinic, which clearly lacks compassion for its patients. I'll be searching for a different practice as I can't tolerate this abysmal service.

  3. Review titled They make it nearly impossible to get an appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 11 January 2024

Their website says under the appointment sections to call this number between 08:00 and 18:30: However, that's not the complete story, once you get through to God, sorry the receptionist, you are told to ring back the next day at 8 am, whereby you join a queue for available places, as the surgery has upwards of 12,000 patients you have little to no chance of being in the first few lucky callers to get an appointment. This setup appears to be detrimental to the patient, as no risk assessment of the patient's needs is undertaken, it's a simple lottery of the fastest callers first... The website also has a link for online bookings! This is just false, following the link takes you to the NHS site which states this GP surgery doesn't accept online bookings. It's no wonder A&E are under so much strain when it's almost impossible to get a GP's appointment...

  4. Review titled Fantastic service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 05 July 2023

I had a face to face appointment with the dr this morning. She spoke to me with feeling and empathy. She did not rush me when I was explaining my symptoms. I felt listened to and very relaxed. The dr was sympathetic and spoke to me with kindness and asked relevant questions to gauge a diagnosis. She referred me for a blood test and an X-ray. I went to the reception to book the blood test and the receptionist said there had been a cancellation and I could have it in 10mins. Fantastic!! While I was waiting I went online to book my X-ray and got it for the same evening. I appreciate that this may not happen again and it was right time right place. However, what a fantastic service, great staff, that are all trying their best in a difficult time. Well done.

  5. Review titled Wrong Information

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Peter John Coborn - Posted on 02 January 2023

Please can the online information you provide be correct? I needed to drop a form into the surgery, and I checked online to see if you were open. It told me you were open until 8pm, so I have just been round. Unfortunately you were closed, but it's only just after 7pm.

  6. Review titled Helpful staff

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 09 January 2023

Even though the wait times on the phone are long and appointments are not readily available when they are needed, the staff you do speak to and see are always patient, helpful and respectful. The staff have been able to signpost me as to where to seek help and who to contact. Following exploring further contact within the surgery I have felt supported and have begun to find a resolution to the issues I’m experiencing. The surgery is sadly understaffed and the staff who remain are navigating a complex and challenging time and staff at Dashwood are doing your best to navigate it.

  7. Review titled Just gets worse

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 19 December 2022

It took me 15 mins and 35 attempts to get into the queue. At which point I was 15th in line and sat in that queue for another 29 mins to actually speak to someone to find out that they have absolutely no spaces left. I never call the docs it’s my absolute last resort because of this. They just seem to be getting worse each time. All I do online says ‘consult your doctor’ before doing anything… uuuurrrmmmm… what doctor is that??? Because I can’t get hold of one!

  8. Review titled This surgery just keeps getting worse

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 18 November 2022

First covid was the excuse which was believable for first year or so now it's just diabolical. You phone up either can't get in queue or you get in queue first thing only to be told no appointments. Then try to fill in econsult and yet still you can't get a face to face appointment or even a phonecall now unless you complain. Then they try to send you to urgent care. Basically putting all their problems on to the hospital. Disgusting and this an appointment needed for a child. Things need to change. The place is empty when we've actually been able to see a nurse. No one in there deserted apart from the receptionists

  9. Review titled Still can't get a GP appointment after trying for 5 days

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 28 November 2022

I called to ask for a GP appointment, after well over an hours wait in the telephone queuing system, I was told I could not be given an appointment over the phone and that I had to book one online. I spent the next three days trying to book online, each time only to be met with the message that there are no available appointments to book online. Currently in the phone due again trying to speak to someone at the practice.

Dear Anonymous Can you please contact the practice to arrange a meeting to discuss your points. If you cant get through please email the practice if you have the facility from our website and we will arrange a meeting with staff. The practice can advise we have an unprecedented level of callers daily. The telephone system we have has been supported by our patient group and new provider which is still being installed at the moment to try and change things but it will take time and working together we can only provide safely what we have available and will ask patients to meet and discuss with us.

  10. Review titled Cannot get in touch with the surgery

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Ian Chart - Posted on 17 October 2022

Just joint, they now I cannot use a phone due to my disabilities and my carer tried to phone but not wasting time not getting through at all for someone to answer. Dashwood has no email address on their website and I spent hours searching for an email address online and found two for Dashwood and around 10 for Louise Pilcher and all worked but got none reply. Practise manager left a message on mobile to phone back knowing I cannot phone. I emailed them to get an appointment. Are they not reading emails at all only phoning but what people like me have disabilities do? I put on the registering form email only. Do I get avoided due to my disabilities what I had before in another surgery. If Dashwood reads that can you email me so I can email back to you.
