Darwen Healthlink desperately needs more staff, both on reception and in the doctors offices. Waiting 20 minutes as number 1 in the queue to speak to a receptionist about doctor not ringing me for my phone appointment, I’m autistic and struggle with timing so have been waiting all day for the phone call so I don’t miss it and nearly 3 hours later still no call.

I found My experience today with your nurse practitioner relaxed , friendly and efficient. Which is what I need when visiting any medical establishment. ( apparent I have white syndrome) She has a lovely manner about her which puts you at ease .

My recent contact with the practice has been to have investigations into a potentially serious problem. Appropriate tests were immediately arranged and follow-up consultations were arranged promptly. I have to say, I have always had a good response from their professional staff and today’s follow-up consultation was no exception. I was able to discuss the test outcomes, current health concerns and have those concerns resolved. Thank goodness for Darwin Healthlink

The practice does not appear to distinguish clearly internally nor via the MyGP app the difference between phone appointments and face to face appointments. Today 11April2025 at 13:30 I had an appointment. However, the practice nurse had previously advised that she would call me to review how I was getting on with my new medication. But, on this occasion the practice had arranged a face to face appointment. This means the confusion has lead to a missed appointment. Even though I had been text about the appointment, I was still expecting a phone call. Please can you make it clear to distinguish between face to face appointments and phone calls. At the moment I don't believe it is clear and it will lead to more confusion and missed appointments.

My recent experience with the practice has been very positive. The receptionist staff were really helpful with my test results and the doctor I spoke with is coordinating my care wonderfully. I would fully recommend her to other patients, and will be asking to see her again in future.

As usual a no nonsense appointment.Listened to without interruptions,things explained without any waffle. Finished the appointment totally happy with the outcome.

Extremely satisfied today with both the appointment and the practitioner. However I do find appointments are sometimes very annoying as the men tend to book you in with the ‘spoke doctor’ rather than one of your own.
