  1. Review titled Upsetting experience

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 22 February 2024

I needed to see my GP due to ongoing pain and onset of depression due to some very difficult circumstances. Due to my mental state at the moment, I had run late for the appointment but had rushed to get there, tried to call the surgery to let them know. Eventually joined the queue 10mins late. While I understand I had missed my appointment which I was very apologetic for, the receptionist was extremely rude and abrupt. She made me feel like a naughty child. I left in tears as it really felt like the last straw that day. While I fully understand the frustration of missed appointments, staff need to be aware that sometimes there are genuine reasons and people are arriving at the surgery in a fragile state. Being made to feel like a burden on this person's work day has left me in a state of distress.

I am sorry that you feel let down and have had a negative experience. Unfortunately, as this post is anonymous, I can not investigate, but if you would like to email me personally maria.humphries@nhs.net and I will see that this is looked into. Thank you

Have recently registered here and have to say how impressed I am with the level of care I have received. Easy to make an appointment, polite helpful reception staff. The Dr has been amazing really thorough and understanding of my problems and not making me feel silly. Am confident I’m being given the best care and I’m so grateful

  3. Review titled Reception staff are rude and abrupt

Rated 2 stars out of 5

The reception staff are extremely rude and abrupt towards patients. They love telling people No or Were fully booked or I can't do that. They are so negative and rude with it. I have sat in surgery before and heard them gossiping about patients. They have no patience for the elderly who obviously don't understand the process but instead of helping them they are rude and talk to them like they are stupid. Very negative people who don't care about the NHS Trust Values. They are supposed to have a person centred approach but they most definatley do not. Either pay them more money so they actually care about their job or give them more training! Even better, replace them. The Dr's at this surgery are brilliant and it has the potential to be a brilliant surgery. The reception staff ruin it.

  4. Review titled Excellent service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I have a chronic medical condition so have to contact my surgery quite often, I never have to wait long for the phone to be answered, receptionists are polite and friendly and always try to help, I had a telephone consultation with my GP this morning who rang on time listened to me and a prescription is being sent to my local pharmacy today, I can't fault this practice
