I had some bloods taken, never have bruising or any problems before however today the person did the band so tight it was like a tourniquet I asked that it be loosened as it didn’t need to be so tight, I was told it did, the moment the needle was put in my blood spurted out and then as normal my blood came out very quick, I have been left with bad bruising, swelling and a lump under my skin which is painful to touch I also can’t straighten my arm properly and am getting pins and needles in my fingers. I will be popping back into the surgery during opening hours to see if anything can be done about this. I have never had any problems previously giving blood and will ensure I see someone different next time hopefully my veins/capillaries will recover and there’s no lasting damage.

  2. Review titled Generally, a good practice

Rated 3 stars out of 5

I finally got through, after two days of frustration waiting in queues. The receptionist, informed me, a doctor would phone me that morning. Phone rang, I dashed to pick it up, too late; it rang only 3/4 times. I immediately rang the practice, I was told, the doctor had tried to contact me several times. The doctor was now busy, and could not talk with me. I was requested to try again the following day. Somewhat exasperated, I decided not to pursue my request, to talk with a doctor. On this occasion, I was rather disappointed. Regards. John Griffiths

  3. Review titled outdated advice and poorly managed

Rated 1 star out of 5

The gp was aware I was trying to conceive. They were satisfied with my tsh hormone being slightly reduced yet still out of the optimal range and weren't aware of the latest guidance. This was only addressed when requested by the fertility clinic. gp was quite patronising/condescending and questioned the advice. I understand they can't be experts but I do expect them to be aware of relevant updates to guidance (or look it up) on optimal levels of hormones in patients (especially when trying to conceive and knowing the important role of a thryoid in the process) The process to get an appointment is unnecessarily complex. Staff on the phone often sound fed-up and very curt when speaking despite polite questions.
