  1. Review titled Chaos

Copy of my e-mail to the Health Minister and my local MP ....... Dear I rarely contact my GP unless they contact me. I was asked to go for my annual review by text, as was my husband. We attended the clinic and we were told we would be contacted by phone a week later by a practice nurse. Our telephone appointments were then cancelled due to unforseen circumstances. In the meantime I put in a request for repeat prescriptions for myself and my husband and we then received texts saying our prescriptions would not be renewed until we arranged a GP telephone appointment. I went to the surgery this morning before the 8am opening and I was 9th in the queue and 2 more people came after me. I rang the surgery at 8am prompt to be told I was number 40 in the queue. I eventually got to the desk and obtained two GP appointments and found they had my husband's telephone number wrong despite him receiving texts previously! The 8am, 5 day a week is not working. I suggest you visit a surgery for a day and then maybe you would have hands on experience to put the system right. Unfortunately you will not be in your post long to do anything about it.

Rang this morning at 8am, no 23 in the queue. Half an hour on phone, my turn came and they hung up on me. Rang back no 34 in the queue !!! What kind of medical service is this ?

  3. Review titled Impossible to get an appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

I had sudden severe searing pain in both knees. Phoned the surgery this morning at 8.04 & was 33 in the queue, finally spoke to someone 30 mins later to be told very abruptly all appointments have been taken you’ll have to phone 111. Did so & they were very polite & caring unlike the surgery & got me an appointment at Alnwick minor injuries. The very good physio there said I needed blood tests & went to phone this surgery, only to be told there were no appointments due to GP training and they advised me to use E consult. Went on line to find a message saying ‘your practice isn’t accepting online requests right now, meanwhile I am still in agony with no pain management - what a shambles! To add insult to injury my husband then received a txt message from the Practice asking what he thought of their branding- ??? What on earth……….

  4. Review titled Terrible service

Rated 1 star out of 5

What is the point of having blood tests when results are not available. These tests aren't done for fun - they are because of genuine concerns. In addition to the lack of results there is still the question of suitability of the telephone system. To get to the point of no results being available have had to endure starting as at least 17 in queue progressing down to 2 only to be left listening to the number ringing out. Had hoped for an improved service for patients as against simply a change in name and presumably improved conditions for staff

  5. Review titled So disorganised

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Judith - Posted on 01 March 2024

Attempted to order my medication via app. None were listed so waited a day to see if they came up. No they didn't. So attended surgery and explained to receptionist who was very helpful, she said I needed a review of meds but would put prescription request in. By this time I am down to two tablets left. Two days later still no confirmation of request (this is now a Friday morning) rang prescription line, they explained their problems, would get a Dr to pass them straight away . explained it was now urgent as down to last tablet. By afternoon found a prescription approval unfortunately it was not the prescriptions I requested! Had to ring again to try and get them .Now Late Friday afternoon I am going to be out of Meds until at least Monday. Appalling! If I need a review why not plan ahead, sent a message via app a month before ? Why just leave it and not allow me to order much needed meds?

  6. Review titled Waste of time

Rated 1 star out of 5

Practice is about as much use as a chocolate fireguard. 1 month to get an appointment to see a doctor, want one now, when I am ill. Myself and my wife were new patients in October last year, supposed to get a new patient consult with a doctor, still waiting! Spoke to a doctor on the phone, none of our details had been put into the computer system after 2 months. Reception staff seem to be less than friendly and incompetent. Maybe we should all book appointments in advance in case we are ill!!!!

  7. Review titled Difficult to get appointments

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Getting an appointment - Posted on 27 December 2023

I waited for 15 minutes in driving rain with 14 others to get an appointment having failed in the previous 3 weeks. The surgery texted me asking me to make an appointment. Why could they not have sent me an appointment in that text?

  8. Review titled Not fit for purpose

Rated 1 star out of 5

This practice does not meet the needs of patients. It is almost impossible to see someone, talk to someone or get an appointment or advice on current medication. When someone is poorly, in pain and can't see a doctor, it's no longer a system fit for purpose.

  9. Review titled Unbelievable

Trying to make appt for blood test. Not possible last week as waiting for list from nurses. This morning told nothing before christmas but try every day in case there's a cancellation. This is standard reply for everything. Perhaps a little joined up thinking wouldn't go amiss. Remember how doctors surgeries used to work (and much more efficiently). It also meant less calls and visits and also less frustration for patients.

  10. Review titled So disappointed

Rated 1 star out of 5

This practice no longer give the duty of care it should , in my personal opinion all they care about is dealing with covid injections! You can’t get in on time for anything else ! Yes covid is still around and still effecting people , but what about long term illness that are equally dangerous if not looked after , they are not taken as seriously , the care side of the practice is practically 0

    Review titled Coquet Medical Group

    Replied on 26 October 2023

Dear Patient Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback to the Practice. We would like to reassure you that Coquet Medical Group is committed to providing the highest possible standards of care to all of our patients. We do recognise that things can go wrong and will always take patient comments on board to improve our service. Vaccination Programmes in the Winter Months (including COVID and Influenza) do have to be completed alongside our usual workloads at this time of year but we try to still keep a balance of routine appointments. We have had some problems with staff absence over the previous weeks and we have put on additional routine clinics on to help with the demand for appointments where possible. We are currently reviewing our Nursing Team rotas and our Long Term Condition Recall system to help create a better patient experience. I will pass your comments along to our GP Partners and Nursing Team leading on these projects. Kind regards Mrs Rebecca Curtis Acting Practice Manager
