  1. Review titled no appointments for vulnerable elderly patient

Rated 1 star out of 5

called repeatedly (during prescribed 8am slot - queue of 40+ callers and triage closed before got to front of queue). Surgery unable to accommodate either phone or face to face appointment for a vulnerable elderly patient. Practice manager unavailable. The only option available was to go to A&E - which was already overrun with people who also couldn't see their GPs....madness

    Review titled Copthorne Branch Surgery

    Replied on 08 December 2022

Dear Sir / Madam I am sorry that you have had trouble booking an appointment with the Practice. We have been experiencing an incredible amount of demand over the past week due to the Strep A cases that have risen sharply as well as the seasonal pressure we see ahead of the Christmas holidays. All of our doctors, including some recently retired, as well as our nurses and covid vaccination staff have been doing extra sessions to help with this demand. We have appointments that release each day at 8:00 and some that are prebookable up to 4 weeks in advance. If you would like to raise this complaint to me please do so by emailing the surgery at pound_hill.reception@nhs.net. Please be assured that this will no way effect the care that we provide to you. Once again, please accept my apologies for any trouble you have been having and we hope that we will be able to shortly return to a more normal level of service for our patients. With thanks Perry Anderson Practice Manager
