Review titled Understanding GP
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Louise - Posted on 21 May 2025
Words can't express the gratitude we have for this practice. The GP listened to my concern today, supported and arranged for further assessments to be done. Having these assessments and (hopefully) a diagnosis will mean our son and us as a family can support him and ensure he has support to live the best life he can. I need to add in the support given by receptionists and secretaries in enabling this all to happen. From our family thank you from us , you have all made such a difference xx

Review titled Great Service
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I've had a pain in my hip recently which is similar to that being experienced by my wife who needs a hip replacement. I called the surgery at 8am, got an appointment at 8.45 where the doctor examined me and reassured me that it was likely my tendons rather than my hip. My doctor advised physiotherapy and by 10.30 I'd got an appointment at the physiotherapist four days later. Great result! I would like to thank everyone in the practice and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend the surgery to anyone.

The doctor I saw was very helpful, I felt comfortable talking to him. I was able to discuss how I was feeling and he put me at ease, he was also very thorough and I left feeling like I had been listened to.

I had a wart removal on my chest which was performed very efficiently and painlessly at this practice. I am pleased with the treatment I received and now await the outcome of the removed wart as to whether it is benign .

Review titled OK practice
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Mr Andrew Chalmers - Posted on 11 April 2025
It's slowly improving , but had terrible treatment throughout the NHS not the practice . My opinion of the practice could do with longer opening hours to cater for those who are working , not everyone gets paid having time off work . The doctor I spoke to today was helpful and eased my anxiety , also prescribing medication .

I left the consultation room feeling very satisfied with how he dug into the complaint I came with. He carried out detailed examination and took his time to explain the cause and effect of the ailment. I will be grateful if I cross paths with him again at College road surgery. I will recommend him any day any time.

Review titled Impossible to get an appointment
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 22 April 2025
I went to A&E the yesterday and was told to follow up immediately with GP. I tried to get an appointment but their phone wouldn’t answer. Went inside and was told they only do appointments by phone. The phone that wasn’t accepting calls. It seems they operate on a dice roll without care for patients health.

Review titled Fantastic Practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Ann Burness - Posted on 01 May 2025
During April I have needed to speak to two different doctors. This practice is particularly good, it took me just a few minutes to get through to get an appointment to be speak to my preferred doctor who is brilliant. He listened carefully to my symptoms and asked me several questions. He remembered that my husband had been ill with the same symptoms 4 to 5 weeks before me becoming ill and he had tested positive for campolybactor, because of this he said he wanted to have a sample tested as he suspected that I may also have food poisoning, especially as we had been back to the same cafe again and my symptoms had started within 3 days of eating there. While waiting for the results of the sample, my symptoms got worse and I was feeling dreadful so I rang again but had to speak to a different doctor who I had not spoken to before. He was lovely, listened really carefully to me and my concerns, gave me plenty of advice about eating and drinking, but agreed that he would prescribe a course of antibiotics that I could either take straightaway or wait a day or two to see is symptoms resolved first. EAround 6pm that day, the doctor I had spoken to initially took the trouble to ring me with the results of the test that had literally just come through. He told me I did have campylocbactor and to start taking the antibiotics. I thought that was so kind of him to do this right at then end of the day. Both doctors supported me and gave me as much advice as possible to help me get better, and this is the normal experience that I have with this surgery. All of the staff are fabulous, always do the best they can to help. My preferred doctor is very kind and patient, and always listens to me and takes on board my worries. However, all of the other doctors in the practice have also done the same. I consider myself really lucky to have such a brilliant surgery to go to. Thank you!

Review titled Amazing Dr
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Miss cv Davies - Posted on 11 April 2025
Came to see this Dr today because the hospital sent over a letter to start some meds for pain. This Dr decided given my age and other meds I am on that the dose should be done alot slower than the hospital suggested ! I agree given the meds are for epilepsy and to reduce pain but I'm not epileptic! Overall the Dr knew what they was doing , understood what I needed and explained everything to me. Very good Dr !
