  1. Review titled Phone call

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 25 January 2024

I had a miss call at 12:07pm from the surgery, but left a voicemail asking to call them back as soon as possible. I called back at 12:27pm but nobody picked up after 10 minutes, I have kept trying to get through the longest call wait was 45 minutes. I have still not got through 3 hours later.

  2. Review titled Incredible service today 5*

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Michelle Cookson - Posted on 25 March 2023

My daughter (17) saw a doctor today. She’s waited a couple of weeks for the appointment but it was definitely worth the wait for a reassuring, thorough and unhurried appointment. She said afterwards, “I’ve never had an appointment like that before. He explained everything and now I understand everything. I wanted to cry when I left the appointment as it was a huge weight lifted off my shoulders. He was so kind and I had a really long appointment. If I need another appointment I’m definitely asking for him.”

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Sharon Gurney - Posted on 24 March 2023

My mum has had dementia for 2 years never had a problem with her tablets before but the last 4 months she's started spitting them out ,throwing them at me ,this month I ordered them few days early on the Tues, they never came so Friday I phoned up again. she had, had her last 1 the night before.ladie on the phone was lovely she told me that they was not due till the Monday but could get them from the Saturday, well my chemist isn't open weekends and it would mean my mum going without her tablets for 3 nights 6 tablets, now some of you will know that if a person with dementia doesn't have they tablets it's not good ,my mum has been getting really bad anyway ,I look after her 24 hours aday ,I've just split up with my boyfriend of 6 years and I've not slept in my own bed in a year ,I'm with her 24 hours aday ,6 tablets could mean ,is she going to punch me today or is she going to cry all day ,doctors should live with dementia for 7 days 24 day just to see what carers go through, rant over thankyou receptionist was really nice x

  4. Review titled How do you get to see a GP

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 16 March 2023

Tried several morning's at 8.00 am it's either a permanent engaged tone, a recorded message telling you to ring back later or if you actually get through you are thirteenth in the queue. If you don't give up and then actually speak to someone, there are never any appointments available and no you can't book one for a later date. Advised as usual to go to the walk in centre, treated there and told if there is no improvement see your GP. Good luck with that. More chance of winning the lottery and yet the website states they are accepting new patients. Why, when they can't treat the ones they have already got?

  5. Review titled Once great and now so poor.

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 16 February 2023

Firstly I'd like to say that it actually saddens me to be writing this review, but things have deteriorated. Now they are at a point where they are unacceptable and unmanageable. The level of care currently is completely erratic. Now there are good things, and some of the staff are lovely, but its now at the point where almost every interaction with them is a nightmare and common sense has often gone out of the window. Its now impossible to get through on the phone. Just don't bother, go in in person. This possibly wont help though. There is a good chance the person on reception simply will not listen to you, and you are turned away. Sometimes you are told to call back - to sit in the queue again. Sometimes you are told someone will call you back - but they don't. Sometimes during a Doctor appt they will advise someone will be in touch to arrange another appointment (Blood test or similar) - they don't. You might receive a voicemail or a text message asking you to call back sometimes, but they don't supply a name, or number, and its back to the queue again. I have sat in reception at 8am, hearing the phones ringing, and the staff are just chatting to each other behind the desk and doing nothing! I've seen it more than once. Some of the reception staff are very nice and polite, but I have also been treated rudely and ignored as has my wife. Its always the same persons causing the issues and we have been turned down more than once when needing urgent/emergency care. The place is now so busy (but in not resolving some easy issues first time, they cause a lot of repeat work for themselves). Some of the staff are very good, some terrible. I know they are busy, but recently my issues have built up and built up and then never actually get resolved. I also sometimes feel like I'm not listened to. You find the most popular GP's are completely impossible to get appointments with, whilst those that might have an appointment free, tend to be that way for a reason. If you have a complex medical condition, forget it, you can't ever manage to discuss all your issues (despite how the GP may try) and asking reception for a double appointment will get you a refusal. If you book an appointment online. Its telephone only. I've previously travelled to the practice as I'm unable to contact them on the phone, to ask them to change the appointment to one in person. While I am stood in reception the GP has called (an hour early), and I miss the call due to speaking to reception staff. I explain this while there, and get told there is nothing they can do, I've missed my appointment. This seems to be an issue with reception staff again. But you can't call patients at random times and expect them to be there. We have jobs. Each interaction with reception and some other staff over recent time has resulted in frustration and annoyance. There are multiple examples over the years and currently ongoing which wont fit here. Some of them serious.

  6. Review titled After a bad experience, it was turned upside down.

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 11 October 2022

I never usually visit the doctors but recently I had to after becoming poorly. The experience when I visited was great, the nurses were very caring and friendly. I was advised by the nurse who saw me to call her on Monday if I had any concerns and to await my bloods. I called on Monday hoping to speak to her but unfortunately whoever answered the phone made me feel really unwelcomed, sad and left me feeling disheartened. I told her exactly what the nurse said to me and I was just told no bloods are in, to call back the following day and if I had any concerns to go to the walk in centre. This left me feeling anxious to call back the following the day. Plucking up the courage, I called back and I spoke to the loveliest team member whose name I did get and will happily tell who it was if required. I just wanted to come on here to tell you that this young lady was so bright, friendly and very nurturing on the phone and I wish whoever I spoke to the day before, would be like her. Thank you so much for helping me, she took all my information, spoke to the nurse whom I asked to speak to and called me back within 20 minutes. You left me feeling emotional in a good way after the phone call because you treated me with so much respect and I hope if I call the practice again, you answer the phone because there should be more people like that. Thank you again for your help, you need to be acknowledged for your kindness and level of professionalism.

  7. Review titled Telephone system repeat prescriptions

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by annoyed - Posted on 15 June 2022

what is the point in having a system, whereby you can speak to someone about your prescriptions, when nobody answers the phone during the allotted time slots of 10am -12pm and 2pm - 4:30pm. tried these time slots numerous times - phone rings and then you are either cut-off or placed back on to leaving messages

  9. Review titled Uninterested service

Rated 1 star out of 5

    by Les Osborne-Ford - Posted on 01 June 2022

I know things are tough at present but a 2-3 week wait just for telephone consultation with doctor or nurse! Have yet to see a doctor and have been registered here for a year. Reception staff friendly and practice nurses friendly too. Was actually told it was probably better to go to a local walk in centre rather than wait 2 weeks for a phone consult by receptionist. Very little faith in this practice regarding communication and their knowledge of an individuals medical history. Probably better to research medical practices in area and make a better choice.
