  1. Review titled Cannot get an appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 08 March 2024

Phoned after 5:30pm was caller No. 1 on hold for well over 10 minutes. Receptionist was not happy with the time of the call and informed me that there were no appointments available unless it was by out of hours gp who were unreliable in past experience or to dial 111. I do not know if it is at all possible to get an actual appointment at this 'clinic' anymore. Best to just dial 111 straight away or go and wait in a&e.

  2. Review titled Outstanding Practise

Rated 5 stars out of 5

The doctors are truly amazing. Recently I have struggled with post concusion syndrom and my doctor supported me and is helping me greatly through this difficult time. I don't think I could have got through it without her. She was extremely knowledgeable, went out of her way to check up on me, supported and advised me and work on how to get back to work, sent me for scans, referred me to specialists, did anything she could to help support me. I can not recommend this practise highly enough and thank them so much for all the care I have received. They work so hard to ensure patients are cared for so well.

  3. Review titled I love Claremont Road Medical Centre

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Josie Crisp - Posted on 09 March 2023

I have been a patient at Claremont Road for 30 years. I have always had excellent service from them. The Reception staff are friendly, as helpful as they can be under the restraints of the job and very knowledgeable. The GP's at this practice take good time to listen and have always been very proactive in getting me the treatment ot tests I have needed. They are very supportive. There are very tough times for all those involved in the NHS and the staff here do their very best to be as helpful as they can despite this

  4. Review titled Too difficult to register

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Walthamstow resident - Posted on 04 October 2022

I cannot comment on the quality of care because I could not get past the registration stage. As advised on the practice website, I downloaded the registration form, which I then printed, filled in and brought to the practice along with photo ID and proof of address. The receptionists were friendly but sent me home with a second registration form that also had to be completed but, for some reason, is not mentioned on the website. When I returned, I was sent home again to make photocopies of my proof of address as they would not accept original documents. I do not have a photocopier or printer so this was a bit of a nuisance - really I would have expected the practice to be able to photocopy the documents themselves! On my third visit, they finally accepted my registration documents. However, two weeks later, I could see that I was still registered at my old practice, so I phoned Claremont Medical Centre to try to find out what was going on. I was told to call back the following day when there would be somebody there who could help me. I did so and was advised that the delay was due to a 'big backlog', but that my query would be dealt with shortly. About one week and 8 phone calls later, I still wasn't registered, which was distressing as I needed to book a appointment. Only when I insisted on a time frame did the receptionist admit that it would take at least another 2 weeks to complete the registration. I pointed out that this is too long - a 5 week wait overall! - and that my last practice had me registered within about a week of submitting the forms. The receptionist told me that couldn't possibly be true as it always takes much longer than that. At this point I had already made my decision to cancel my registration and try my luck with a different practice. I filled out the online registration with the other practice on a Thursday, emailed over my ID and proof of address on the Friday, and by the Monday received a text to say I was registered. That's 2 working days! As I said above, I cannot comment on the quality of medical care but it should not be this difficult to register. I also really did not appreciate the gaslighting from the receptionist. If registration really does have to take 5 weeks to for whatever reason, prospective patients should be warned of this in advance.
